The Varejao signing factored into the decision.

I think Boston or New Jersey will acquire him.

We have the Mayor Chandler...... oh wait he can't even get off the bench in blowouts and garbage time and I SAY UGH is begging for Big Game James to start playing instead.

Superstar Demetris Nichols cut again!?!? Say it ain't so! The Cavs have made a grievous error by not keeping this fine young talent who can't get a minute of burn for Cleveland while Pavlovic is holding out! Ferry should be roasted over an open pit, how could he not keep a roster spot open!?!? What awful asset management!!!!

In an entirely unrelated topic: Spain, Italy, and France are remarkably nice places this time of year....

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

For about the millionth time, it's not about Nichols, it's about Isiah just wasting assets. He threw away next year's 2nd rd pick, which could very well be in the 30-35th pick range.

It's amazing how some dullards can't, or refuse to, get that through their thick skulls.

Yeah they keep mocking Nichols with Jordan comparison ignoring the biggest issue at hand and that's mismanagement of assets. Including several young players on the team who made the roster and/or are some part of the rotation.

That and the fact that the only reason he wasn't on the roster to begin with is cause Isiah spent $30 million on a guy who's strengths is eating donuts (mind you he is PHENOMENAL at eating donuts, but that has nothing to do with baskebtall) and couldn't buy him out. Everything Nichols did in summer league and preseason games suggested that he earned a spot on the team. Sometimes that is not enough because there are already 12-15 talented, established guys that deserve to be there (which is much more ofthe case with the Cavs than it is here, btw)- but on this roster, there were lazy, useless turds that didn't deserve to be here.

Also, the Cavs are a good team. They can afford to waive players who fill needs we have.

I'm still trying to figure out how some people get "superstar" when the most anybody ever said about Nichols was that he could be a useful player on this Knicks team that lacks a small forward who can shoot the ball well. I guess it's just desperation that causes people to exaggerate in a pathetic attempt to make it look like they had a point.

But again, it's about Isiah wasting and mismanaging assets. There's no debating that.

I seems Zeke was correct for keeping Fred Jones over Nichols...

I doubt anyone here will come clean on that one...

I don't think it would have mattered who he kept. I mean it's not like Fred Jones is lighting the world on fire right now.

The point of the whole thing is that Isiah threw away draft picks for no reason what-so-ever.

Fred Jones was the easy cut because he had no more years on his contract so it wouldn't have been a dead money cap hit for more than this year. This team is not a contending team, so Fred Jones perhaps has less value to it than a prospect like Nichols.

Jones is a contributing player though.

The other easy cut was James, but Dolan issued to the edict to stop buying out players.
