I know this is being billed as the OJ Mayo show, but there is a guy playing in this game who is also a freshman and he just happens to be the best freshman PG of the big 3, well atleast in my opinion, and thats Derrick Rose.

This guy is the definition of a floor general, he knows how to setup his teammates, he plays good defense, he can run the court, he can create his own shot and he has a great shooting stroke. This is exactly the guy the Knicks need with their pick this year(assuming it's a top3 pick and he comes out.)

There is also another guy in this game who I like and I know BRIGGS does as well and thats Chris Douglas-Roberts who is an excellent all around player. He is great offensively and just as solid defensively. He's a tall SG at 6'7.

Either way, I know this game is being touted as the OJ Mayo show but trust me Derrick Rose is the better pro prospect for a WINNING future.

eny and I are at the garden...we weren't too impressed with beasley...he's got some skills but I think he's closer to 6'8 than 6'10...

memphis having a dunk contest in the layup line...athletic freaks...

Thats awesome DJ.

I was lucky to catch Rose at the Coaches vs Cancer championship vs UConn, I think you'll come away as impressed as I am. Theres no doubt in my mind the Knicks should target this guy with WHATEVER pick they have.

Man, Rose is great in transition. Nearly everytime he runs the ball up the court in a 3 on 3 or 3 on 2 he finds the right guy for the open shot. His defense has been solid so far as well.

Mayo is a great talent, but I just don't think you're going to win with a guy like him playing the PG position and very few guys his size can actually play the SG spot in pros and not get burned defensively. He reminds me alot of Marbury(not necessarily the attitude) but just the fact that if he were 2-3 inches taller he'd be a hell of a SF instead of him trying to run the point and always having the ball in his hands.

Derrick's probably playing his worst game so far in his Freshman season. Bad timing for this thread.

Two undersized sg do you really want them. I would rather take Beasely. If you want take Gordon probably much better shooter than both of them but undersized also. OJ and Rose just not very impressive.

Memphis vs. Usc: Worst college basketball I've seen in a while. It looked like the Knicks vs. The Knicks.

Dosier is an amazing talent but he can't finish.....I dunno what his shooting percentage was, but it has to be 10%.

I like derrick rose but he played his worse game in his short college career tonight.

Usc was featuring #13.....who is #13? Its not OJ Mayo.......Mayo can play but USC may have been a bad choice to play his college ball. Fyi? #13 is a bum and in 4 years he will be saving you money by getting you to switch to Geico.

Every single player in the memphis vs. Usc game needs to be taken for a piss test. 50 something points in a over time game? Tuuurble....just turble.

Oj mayo had the Billy D williams mustashe going on. Maybe Colt 45 will give him an endorsement deal.

Beasley? He did not impress me or DJ @ all. To me, the real prize is #12 on beasley's team. Dude is a beast.

Tuuuurble.

What are you talking about SG's? I'll give you Mayo, because he can't distribute the ball but Rose is absolutely a PG.

Yeah this went from Can't miss to can't watch. But Rose and Mayo are still two major league talents.

Rose-worst game of his college career and yet he grabbed 10 rebounds. That's what youw want in a player. If one thing ain't working, try something else.

Unfortunately everyone loves scoring.

If Rose got 10 rebounds, they sure didn't impact the game much. The game was just horrible.

Thank God I had DJ to crack jokes with.

The game was so sad that some ref called a 2 shot foul when nobody was even moving.

Thats what I'm saying. This guy has everything you want to see in a young player. He reminds me of Deron Williams in that manner since Williams can rebound, distribute, score and play defense and doesn't care about scoring, he just wants to help his team win.

Rose is exactly the kind of young player you want to build your team around... I just hope the Knicks are fortunate enough to have a shot at him.

They may not have affected the team in terms of aesthetics but I can guarantee you that 10 rebounds from the PG position affected the game. I have it on my Tivo so I will let you know.

9 pts, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals and a block

usc did a great job on rose, and sometimes we forget the kid is just 18, but despite a poor outing he finished with 8/10. 10 rebounds. LOL.. the kid until the last posession in regulation was looking for the open man and not his shot.. He has the type of game and skills that will translate in the the NBA well. Great handles, size, blazing speed,, great athleticism, good decision making skills, he is a good passer and defender. I really love this kids game... Most of all, he looks to involve his teamates every posession.

Get him on the KNICKS!!!

I got another believer on my side.

TKF, we gotta get this guy man. I think he's a better Deron Williams and this is exactly the guy to turn our franchise around with.

I saw him once against Uconn and I was sold on the kid. The only thing I don't know is whether he has a jumpshot or not. But he goes by his man so easily, we may not know until he gets to the NBA level

I was at the game at the Garden. He was awesome to watch live, he played pretty well too.

The jumper is the only question surrounding this guys game, but seeing as he's good at everything else and you hear he's such a hard worker, I think he'll develop one soon.

Damn, I thought it was "Knicks VS. USC". Now that would get ratings...
I would love to see a college guy dunk on Eddy... then become his team-mate next year.

What we must remember as knicks fans is this....Every guy that put's on a knick Uni can't handle the pressure playing in NY night in and night out(media pressure-fans expectations etc...)
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
