Bring Curry off the bench if you can exploit a matchup. Bring Marbs off the bench for instant offense. Keep Q starting to send a message to Marbury that its not about talent, its about desire and leadership.

You fight the battles you thinnk you can win. Marbs has already been benched and Curry should go because it would help the team. Crawford and Zach are not perfect but Zach shows the effort with his rebounding #s and Crawford is the best alternative we have at the PG position to Marbury. Still trying to win games. And Zach and Crawford have longer contracts than Marbury and Curry. So if we're rebuilding, thats where you start.

Crawful - Fred Jones starting backcourt...by all means experiment away! it'll only lead to an even quicker date with the executioner for Isiah

i vote for buying out Marbs & trading Eddy Curry to balance out the roster

Actually i'm thinking Eddy should be a bench player here. Let him exploit the second stringers for other teams where his weakness on D won't be as exposed.

i think putting him on the bench would reduce his trade value & he doesn't have the mentality to come in off the bench & make an impact... he's the type of player that needs to get involved early in the game & stay involved throughout to keep him focused... otherwise he puts it into cruise mode.

I like Curry starting. The KNicks are using him wrong, I like post play just like anyone else but you got to get Curry and his fat azz moving more without the ball. Creating easier opps for him to score and get him in better shape.

I second that motion. Isiah has overdone the whole dump it down low thing. Yeah you want a lot of post ups, but we totally wreck the offense when it's the same play over and over again, meanwhile all the other players on the team just stand around and get cold. We have much more motion and ball movement when we don't focus everything on Curry. He doesn't need that in order to succeed. We'll get more alleyoops and easy layups from him when the defense can't key in on him every play.

We have guards that can breakdown any defense and yet we don't use it enough. We played better when Jamal was aggressive and attacking the defense. The assists were up and the offense flowed nicely. Then it seems like Isiah might have said something to make Jamal pull back and we went into default dump it down mode. For this team when the ball is moving we're a much better team and we need to keep it that way.

We need to run pick and rolls with Marbs and Zach...Curry needs more touches in the post...When Curry and Zach post, there needs to be cutters to the basket...The offense needs to revert to Curry as the focal point...

Cutters require the motion offense that we were supposed to have last season, and also a PG who knows how to run an offense. Unfortunately, we don't have players who know how to cut to the right spots besides Fred Jones and Balkman and David Lee and we don't have a PG who can run that type of offense. Nor do we have the low post players who can consistently pass out of the double teams nor look for those cutters. Plus, that type of motion offense tends to require a running offense, and if our defense is as bad as it is, we will not have many opportunities to run in the first place.

I'm with TMS. Trade Curry while his value might still be up, for someone we actually need, whether it's a lesser talent or not. Forget the past draft picks. That's in the past. We've been throwing away draft picks anyway. Trade him for that shotblocker or that leading PG who can D' up. There's got to be someone available SOMEWHERE for Curry. And I think Marbury is keeping us from winning at this point. The team plays much better on both ends when he's not on the court and they play together, whether they win or lose. If you can't get anything worth him, just buy him out. He only has a year and a half left.

Given your profession, I know you're familiar with "sunk costs." Sucks that so much was given up for so very little, but accurately assessing the situation is what is important now. Similarly, it doesn't mean that either was worth the price. I mean, spending $100 on a turd sandwich doesn't mean it should appear on the Peter Luger Steakhouse menu.
