Latest Marbury trade scenario

The Pacers lost out in the last seconds to the Cavs Sunday, their first loss in four games with Jermaine O'Neal sitting out with knee issues. Indiana, with a more open style, seems to move better without O'Neal in the lineup. They'd love to move him, but coming off knee surgery and with two seasons after this averaging more than $22 million, you figure it's almost impossible. Would the Pacers take on Stephon Marbury with one season left to save $23 million?--Chicago Tribune

Keep in mind, O'Neal is a big time shotblocker (2.6 per last year), but is his knee so far gone that he's not gonna be an effective player anymore.

How would you fit him in with Zach/Curry (you can't). Could you trade one of those two elsewhere?

Indy won't make that trade... their whole purpose would be to gain cap space... Zach's contract is an albatross that we'll have to eat for the next 3 years before he becomes tradeable again... our best hope to get JO is to include Curry in the deal, & even then you also likely have to give up D Lee in the process along w/Malik & Fred Jones' contracts... no way would they want any part of Marbury unless they just planned to buy him out

Don't see how that makes the Knicks better... I just see it hurting the team more in the long run. They won't be any good and add more longer-term contracts. The move should be to trade these guys for expiring or buy Marbury out.

For one I think its better balance. You get a PG who passes and a good shotblocker who has been a 20-10 guy. And also a guy who can play the 3. However you're adding a lot of salary. Is this supporting cast you want to put around Curry?

IM all for J.O. but we cant have four big guys sharing the minutes, david lee gets screwed out of minutes. And if you think Isiah has problems with Steph, you should of seen the problems Isiah had with Tinsley. I mean as the coach of the Pacers he decided it was time to stop talking to his floor general since they didnt like each other.

Dreams are nice. Sam Smith is an idiot who invents his own bogus rumors though. Ignore everything the man writes.

The reality of it all is we'll struggle once again to win 30-something games, Isiah will get fired at season's end, and the new guy will have a firesale because you absolutely MUST tear this entire roster down. There is no miracle trade nor no two miracle trades that can fix this disaster of a roster. No trade will make all the shortcomings of the present players disappear. Crawford will still jack up bricks. Curry will still stink at defense. Malik will still be washed up. Jerome still useless. Etc.....

YES.. i would absolutely make this deal if it presented itself! Then I would move place a call to Sacramento and beg them to take Curry, Crawford and Mardy Collins for Bibby and Artest
