"you have to get guys that have a couple things. A commitment to winning, a willingness to sacrifice and do whatever it takes to win.........I've run into talented players that have other agendas. I'm cool with that, but they can't play for me"

95% of the world can see it. there are just a few holdouts still trying to figure out why this team can't win consistently.
I just hope that people will like me

Now didn't both Joe And Isiah play on the same championship teams and learn from coach chuck daly on what it takes to win.

So why did Isiah go out and get guys who won't and can't commit to what the Team concept he's accustomed to as a player and coach
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

This is where PresIke comes in to tell us Joe is being condescending because everyone knows this already, and Nixluva tells us this is what he's been saying for years.

I don't think there is one single person who would disagree with this. Who's holding out?

I'm guessing it is those people that call others "haters" anytime someone has a problem with a trade that brings in the TT's, JJ's, SM's, JC's and EC's of the world

And where you come in and demonstrate how little you understand our perspectives through your attempt at humiliating us.

Dumar's point isn't addressed at Knicks fans, so your attempt makes even less sense other than trying to take a cheap shot at me. What he said is what any person who knows anything about team sports can say. Did you not know this? Point is I don't know players personally, so I'm not the one making judgements as a GM or coach. What I can ask is do people learn this or is it something inherit? Isiah probably thought that he could be a leader and role model to help change some habits, which btw, has psychologically been proven to be effective on human beings for influencing others in their behavior (Social Learning Theory). There are reasons why
it does not always work, especially as people get older and more set in their beliefs, but not necessarily.

Isiah was the star, or at least billed that way. While Dumars was the all-pro, playing the role of second fiddle. So Dumars has a more complete perspective.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I have no problem with Isiah bringing in a couple guys that he felt could change with the proper coaching and mentoring. It's not impossible. But dude, how long is Isiah's list?

Listen I'm an idiot. I am a softie. I run a business and have taken chances on some questionable people that I thought I could fix. But even being an idiot I knew to surround them with people that had succeeded so that they could show them the way. How dumb would I be to bring in misfit after misfit thinking I could fix all of them? Who does this??????????

I agree it was a HUGE risk, and went too far. That was part of the problem, and I suspect ego -- and Isiah's clearly is big -- got himself in too deep. Isiah was a star PG, so I guess he felt he could be a PG as GM/coach and make the players better as a leader.

you can't look or judge isiah in a vacuum - you've got to look at the team at the top- and dolan is the major factor in why isiah gambled on bad risk talent.

Joe Dumars can talk safely from Detroit & thank LB for his championship and explain what he saw in Darko.

Replace Isiah with Joe D, and re-run the last four years- and I am not sure the results would be any different.

We probably would have only had 1 coach, instead of how many?

And we might not be capped out like we are- but I have a feeling the marbury deal would have been forced on Joe D. Maybe the mistakes/misteps would have ended there-
