Said Eddy Curry: "I haven't talked to anybody individually in a 'What do you think of Isiah?' type of thing. So I'm still in the same place -- trying to win a game. It's still early, but the media's going crazy, which is making us go crazy. You just have to block everything out and get one game."

i hear d-league affiliate fayetville needs a center...

Tell Curry to go crazy on defense and on the boards for once.

You just have to block everything out and get one game.

If it's a matter of blocking something, Curry won't do it.

I don't recall Patrick ever complaining about petty things like the NY media being a distraction.

Any player with confidence and credibility will have media guys f...ck themselves.
But if you have nothing to show... NYC is scary place for pussies.

When Isiah first got here he was getting advice from everyone on what to do. Fans were tired of the old, slow and unathletic team. He took that to mean that he could be successful just by being younger and more athletic. What he didn't factor in, was what is really important when bringing players to NY. With the overhyped media and the relentless fans, you must find players with a thick skin, focus, mental toughness and the willingness to do anything for the good of the team(and therefore NY). Isiah ignored all these trivial things and focused upon the sizzle.

Knicks: Young and athletic prima-donnas and their producer Isiah

All circus spectators are on their feet with loud ovation cheering the clowns and acrobats...

Only on this board can the NY media get love. You guys are crazy and are rabid right now. Curry is right the Media is really hyping this situation up like it never been hyped before. Accross the river the Nets have lost 6 straight and noone really cares about it and yes its with the great JKidd. Its early people and things will come together for this team. If it doesn't we got a draft pick this year thats a good thing.

I remember these media guys they kick everyone Pat Ewing got his nuts kicked by the media too lets not act like this is all new. Who remembers Spree well and his boat incident that was just wild too. Half this is just speculation that the media is running wild with. I find it really funny that the people mentioned to replace Isiah are the same people that were mentioned by people on the board. Sometime I think the NY media is playing the fans.

NY media is the power. May be dark power but this what it is.
You are aginst it and it will crash you.
Dolan made his stand and now he will get it all back.
Just watch.

if curry can't block out the media, how can he possibly focus with the game on the line, and the chance to win within reach of his hands on an easy lay up- is he able to focus, or is he going to worry about missing the shot?

Of course, we know the answer to this.

But, it would be easier for them if there wasn't a four year run up in expectations, and an organization run by clowns.

Yes, yes, it's the media's fault we're 2-7 and a soap opera.

I mean, Isiah said it best after the 40 point blowout to Boston in the preseason: We were fighting the media not a team. Our players were intimidated by the media coverage of KG,Allen,Pierce.

It's good of Eddy to learn from his coach.

How did we get this guy for only 2 lottery picks? Normally you'd have to give up at least 3 or 4 for someone this good!

Who suggested that it was new? The point that I have been trying to get across is that the media and the fans of NY have not changed one bit. And they will never change. That is why YOU MUST GET PLAYERS THAT ARE STRONG ENOUGH TO HANDLE IT. If you dismiss the media and think they will simply go away, and then go out and sign primadonnas and the mentally weak, than you will see the results you are seeing. Throw on top of that an owner that has completely disrespected and dismissed the media, and you are bound to see the sensationalism that we are currently seeing. This is an organizational issue and not the media. It's time we change our strategies or else the results will not change.

I think Curry is right. The media is being mean to the Knicks, as are the fans. You'll notice that the fans regressed last night and booed the team, and called for Isiah to be fired. It's wrong to boo an athlete as it drains his confidence and makes him give up and cry.

And it's wrong to call for the coach to be fired (unless the coach is Don Chaney, of course).

The Nets dont have the highest payroll in the sport. The Nets havent had 6 coaches in 4 years, two of which were HOF. The Nets dont play in the media capital of the world. The Nets dont have the same fan base. The Nets make the playoffs every year. If they fail to this year, THAT will be the story, not a slow start. The Nets dont talk about how great they are. The Nets have one of the best GMs in the game.

Isiah should be replaced because he has failed. In four years, several roster turnovers were are STILL one of the worst teams in the league in most facets of the game. Talent talent talent we cant win games... ever. There is no Lebron or Durant that is growing before our eyes, only Curry's waistline.

I have no idea why people show such faith in Isiah or patience when its clear how utterly he has failed.

In sports when a GM get unlimited resources, spends an unprecedented amount of money and fails to improve the team and win games after 4 years he gets fired. Thats sports.
