If Chicago can't get Kobe they still will need a post precence to get them past CLE, DET, BOS.

NY gets middle defense to compliment Curry. We give up Balk but maybe Chandler is the same but with an outside shot (Isiah should tell him no 3 pointers, only 15 footers).

Thoughts?

No. Wallace is old, and one dimensional. Zach is a much more talented and younger player. I wouldn't trade Balkman for Wallace at this point in their careers.

nah i dont think this team is close enough to being any good for ben to really make a diff he is too old....

I think if I'm trading Zach, I'd probably do it for cap space.

Big Ben doesn't look good so far. In fact he looks BAD. Idk if it's injuries, need of a change of environment, or just age.

I like that his contract is shorter, but Z-Bo's been playing close to All-Star level, and Joe Smith has been outplaying Ben.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Ben is hurt right now but he only has 3 more years on his contract.

He makes Curry much better. He covers a lot of the holes on the perimeter. He is a leader by example. He would squash Marbury in a NY second.

That last reason alone is worth it.

For a team that has Zach OR Curry to go far into the playoffs, the rest of the players have to cover their deficiencies.

Personally I think Wallace seen his best years already. Balkman and Z are not the main problems with this team. It's guys like suckbury (attitude) and a few others who just aren't consistent enough. But our two biggest problems really are defense and ball handling. We have way too many turnovers again, which result in our loses. Ball handling is the biggest problem I think riight now, with defense second. We have tons of people who can score, but we don't take care of the other parts of our game. I wanted to see Ron Artest come in a plug up that huge hole, but we have enough attitude and always in trouble on this team as it is. Suckbury, in my opion is the biggest problem that keeps us from doing anything with this roster, because of his huge ass contract. Same thing with Jerome's big ass non productivity and useless contract also. The money is built into the wrong places on this team. Isiah's first big mistake that haunts us to this day.
I'll never trust this' team again.

I think Ben Wallace is beyond overrated. I wouldn't even trade him for Lee. He has a big contract and is not even producing. It looks like he needs to be with Price and Rasheed to be effective. All that defense Wallace is suppose to have and the Bulls barely used him last year.

Randolph makes Curry expendable. I'm sick of people acting as if Curry is the one the needs to stay, who'd you rather keep?? 19 ppg and 7 rpg or 19 ppg and 15 rpg
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

How bout suckbury for Artest? At least we'd have better defense. But both on the same team? Forget it.

If you're gonna grab Big Ben, you go after Ron Artest right after him. There's really no point in bringing in just Big Ben.

If you're gonna go big, go big all the way...

ALL DEFENSE

this is crazy, never in a million years. Zach has shown his worth on the court as a scorer and rebounder and Balkman is already better than Ben, and thats no exaggeration.

Maybe if it was Zach, Balkman, Crawford for Ben Wallace and Ben Gordon, I might do that deal. You then trade Lee to Sac for Artest. Now your line up is Marbury, Q, Artest, Wallace, Curry. That line should be able to play defense and still score. Plus, you have Gordon, Nate, and Chandler coming in off your bench.

Chicago has Hinrich, Crawford, Noncioni, Zach, and Thomas or Noah. They would finally have some low post offense and still have Thomas and Noah for lowpost defense.
