I'd rather have one supertalent jack up 25 shots than have 3 pretenders throw up 50...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Imagine what you could do if you were allowed to spend all the money in the world to make things happen over a four year period and allowed to make any trades that you wanted.

^ Well to be fair he refused Vince Carter for Jamal Crawford.

That was a shrewd move...

You also have to remember that at the time Vince Carter was acting like a diva. Quit on his team for that past 2-3yrs, was having surgery like every season. He got the name Wince Carter, and people were questioning his man hood.

If VC for Crawford was a good trade to you. Then there shouldn't be any problems with Francis & Frye being traded for Randolph.

That's not true I for one begged for isiah to trade for VC.

I understood the reason VC dogged it in Toronto.

When you are the only team left in Canada and management at the team hired a different coach every couple of yrs, he knew his chances of truly competing for a chip wasn't coming his way.

If Colangelo was in toronto when VC was there he wouldn't have dogged it and would have been a motivated player(like he is in NJ) because managment was serious about competing and winning.

VC has been a stud ever since he left toronto's old pathetic management
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I think we still have the highest payroll in the league, but at least it's starting to fall.

I think we started to fall before payrole started to fall.

It's a miracle that even with this payrole (and even bigger last season) the team still sucks.

Well, we better not fall too far. We're #1, and it should stay that way.

Eh, if we start winning who cares. When the Yankees were winning the World Series with the league's highest payroll, nobody in New York was losing sleep over it.

Uh, whether there is a cap or not is irrelevant when people are making "they spend tons of money so they have to have some sort of talent on the team" comments. Those comments are made in an attempt to cheapen what a team has accomplished or is accomplishing, saying it should be expected given the amount that is being spent. They aren't talking about how their cap woes will affect their ability to sign free agents, or anything along those lines. Note how the quote doesn't say a thing about the cap, nor does it even vaguely reference it. Genius.
