"Central Michigan center Chris Kaman is off to a slow start in workouts. According to several team sources who have seen him work out, he doesn't appear to have the quickness or toughness they thought he had. If he continues to work out poorly, there's a chance he could slip to the Knicks at No. 9."

Ha ha. You guys remind me of that Woody Allen quote, something like: "I wouldn't want to belong to a club that would have me as a member". In this case it's "I wouldn't want the Knicks to pick a player who is still available when the Knicks pick."

I think Martin might have thought that this could be good news. Maybe teams are missing this guy's potential and the Knicks could pick him up. Then again, maybe he's another Eric Chenowith.

No such thing, just passing on Insider info.

Borchardt... paging Curtis Borchardt, anyone? Weis? Weis in the house?

(I have zero actual info/opinion on Kaman, never saw him play.)

Speaking of Weis... did anybody see the article in the Post? Fellow Frenchman Tony Parker's comments were hysterical. It seems Parker blames Weis for falling so far in the draft. Parker said Weis gave French players a bad name... is completely SOFT, would get eaten up here and has absolutely no chance to ever make it in the NBA.

Another day, another humiliation for "the architect".

I did see KAMAN play 3 games, he isn't bad but it was against inferior comp. Go to NBADRAFT.NET & you can see his stats against all the teams he played against.

Are we going to get this right some day? Scott did not draft Weis.

Kaman would be a good pick at #9 for us. Not every pick needs to be a franchise player. Kaman only need to bulk up some, which he is working on. His perimeter game isnt good, but around the rim he has excellent footwork and he's ambidextrous.

Unlike Borchardt (who's only similar characteristic is they are both big and white) Kaman has NO history of injuries. Kaman will probably be a lot like Vlade Divac. A good fundamentally sound player, or a nice piece to have.

Christ cant help. If he could or would Houston would score 50 EVERY game. As it is we need to turn over this roster in the next few years, and the draft is a key tool to doing that.

I have yet to hear one good arguement on why Kaman will be bad. As for a "poor" workout for the Clippers that means nothing. Teams that love a prospect dont show their hands. And besides if your Kaman why would you want to take a workout with the Clippers seriously?

I love how people trash ideas on this board...so Kaman is garbage, who are you drafting and what are you basing your call on? Lampe? Sofo? Sweetney?
