Met mark aguirre today at the mall.... he's mad cool...

First thing I said:
"Why is jerome james on this team and nichols is not?"

He bursted out laughing and said one word "MONEY"

So I was like "ok so u guys couldent cut him? Dolan wouldent allow it? " he was like "yea man trust me that killed us to have to do that" he sounded really upset about it and restated that if they coulda cut james for him they would have.

I proceeded to insult jerome calling him a fat embaressment and mark laughed hard again.

Then I was like "is there any chanceof david starting?" he shrugged and jus said "man who knows with this team"

Finally I proceeded to diss crawful lol "what's wrong with jamal? Why does he jack up ridiculous shots like he's a and1 player"??? He bursted out laughing really hard and said "yea we have to straighten that out" I said "when the ball moves around good things happen... when jamal runs down the floor crossover fadeaway I want to shoot mysel... doesent he realise by now that's not a good shot???" he started laughing again and agreed.. He seemed to be happy 2 be recognised and impressed that I actually knew wat I was talking about. That was it... real nice guy.... the end

That's somethin huh? You have to figure that if we're thinking these things that the same points aren't lost on the team. There's just more to it than simple logic might suggest. Money being an issue in this case really stinks. I guess, Dolan was tired of handing out free money and drew the line on Jerome. Maybe their going to try and see if they can get him declared physically unfit to play and try to get his money picked up by insurance or something. If they can get him to retire due to injury, maybe that's a way to solve this.

If this is all true, about his reaction to your questions, then I'd have to say that the state of things are actually as pathetic as we thought it's been. Incredible!

That would have to be in the contract. And Dolan ain't about to give up 18 million more bucks for nothing! We're stuck wtih the bum.

It's a shame, it really is. That's why it's important to exercise cap flexibility oh well unfortunately we have to learn the hard way. It's another reason I can't stand the Jeffries signing nor the Zach trade.

We already figured it out the bank vault is closed. All you have to know is that JJ Fats is still on the team. The amount of money the Knicks have doled out in buyouts and Law suit settlement is nearing some 50-60 millon range thats just in the last few years. Man Isiah is making sure everyone gets rich maybe we can get our foot in the door somehow, it like a lottery you never know.

How about basketball harassment against Knicks fans?
I guess no low for this type of offense but why not to create a precedent?

If you buy him out you save on the luxury tax!

And was $3MM so much to bite for Freddy Jones? We were able to send Dickau packing when we could actually use a pass first pg on this team?

Elite- That's incredible- way to be on it-
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

Wheres the link? LOL just joking, but that's whats up. Even Aguirre can see this team doesn't always make the right choices.

Good street reporting Elite.

I think it was obvious to most that Nichols got caught up in a numbers game. I still think he made unwise fiscal decisions, but more power to him, belief in one's self is very important.

My hope -- Jerome James' salary is the key to making some trade work.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

"never know with this team!"

That was a very telling quote. Its scary!

Even Aguirre was not very defensive about the team and what is wrong. One could figure he could have put Elite in his place by saying that "things are not always as they appear" but he was far less defensive than Nixlova is!

Aguire might seem like he goes as far as Isiah does. When Isiah is gone, He is also at some point. Im glad he is cool about the whole thing and was approachable. That is good. Maybe we need more of that on this team. Dealing with reality instead of worrying about dolans media police!

Way to go Elite! Good take.

The JJ1 issue was clearly about money and the fact that we did not have a 3rd string center. Thus, if you cut JJ1, you not only have to pay the full amount (JJ1 was not looking for a buyout), but you also will probably need to sign a center at some point in the season if Curry or Morris got hurt. With Balkman, Jeffires, Chandler, Q, and even Collins all able to play the 2/3, Nichols was not going to get any burn this season. The Knicks made the right move initially with the hope that Nichols would go to Europe for a year and give the Knicks a chance to create a roster spot for him next year. He was not willing to follow the plan and the Knicks hands were tied. The only mistake the Knicks made is that they should have made absolutely certain that Nichols was on board with the plan to go to Europe. Apparently, only Nichols' former agent was on board.

Aguirre's take on meeting Elite:

"I met this stupid kid at the mall today. He kept harassing me about the team and wouldn't shut up. I wanted to punch him in the face but I just kept laughing at him instead."
