I know I said no to Sheed before but would you do this trade?

New York trades...
C Kurt Thomas, PG Charlie Ward, SF Latrell Sprewell, PG Frank Williams and the 9th pick to

Portland for...
PF Rasheed Wallace, SG Derek Anderson, SF Qyntel Woods and their 1st Rd Pick (23rd overall)

Going by NBADraft.net we can select one of the following...
Varejao, Outlaw, Cabarkapa, Reece Gaines, Barbosa

Then for the 2 2nd rounders select any of the following...
Malick Badiane, James Lang, Kendrick Perkins, Tommy Smith, Charlie Villanueva, Jerome Beasley, Uche Nswondu-Amadi

Then cut Nailon, Postell and Pope.

Derek Anderson has a Shandon Anderson type contract but maybe we can try him at PG.

Opening Day Lineup

C-Badiane/Lang/Perkins
PF-Rasheed Wallace
SF-Shandon Anderson/Woods
SG-Houston
PG-Eisley/Reece/Barbosa

Bench - Derek Anderson, Spoon, Harrington, Doleac, Knight

IR - Dyess

Just a thought.

At least you're trying and exhibit some imagination which is more than I can say about a certain GM making over four million a year.

Hell yeah I do this deal. Unfortunately Portland isn't that generous. You can have Sheed, Anderson and Woods but the pick is a no no. Even that is too much for what you are giving Portland. I would be happy with Sheed and Woods thats enough for me. Take Lang with the 31st and you have you new team.

Woods sf
Rasheed pf
Lang c
Houston sg
Vujanic g

Just imagine what the lineup if Dice is able to comeback.

Well, let's see:

- mismanage the CAP
- have lousy basketball players signed to very long term contracts
- have most of your players play out of their natural position
- draft guys that have no chance of making the team
- have high moral character and know very little about the game of basketball

... that should about do it, nykboker.

I would trade everyone on the Knicks and take Wallace. This whole NYK team isn't worth as much as Wallace. The Knicks have only two good skilled player on their entire roster, Spree and Houston the rest are a bunch up washed up players with no upside. They have all peaked and they will never get better. Even Spree is on the down slide when he would consistently score in the 20s he now struggles to get past 15 points in a game. Adding Wallace is a no brainer he might not have one but from a basketball stand point you don't pass on a 7' player with his skill level no matter what. There was a time when Spree was an amazing athlete and the Knicks were licking their chops to get him and when they got him it became popular with NYK fans even with his baggage. I think Wallace will become popular just as Spree in NY. Adding Wallace is a positive step towards winning again Portland has missed a playoff in 18 years now wallace has value no doubt.

You're coming around to my way of thinking... which is the implementation of the "blow torch" strategy.

If Lampe falls to 9th I can see Portland doing this deal. The question is... Do we?

You got me between a rock and a hard place with this one, because I want Lampe on the Knicks as he is going to be a good player. Its a tough call and knowing the NYK win now attitude I have to go with Wallace.

I'd take Lampe, too, but so would Chicago and Milwaukee. If he falls to 9 and we pass him up, I'll be more than just a tad miffed.

Expect the worst.

Just the numbers 20-10 in a Euro Tounament, reports and what a fellow poster on this board Abdurrahman who has seen him play said. I asked him about Edu Hernandez and he wrote mostly about Lampe.

Robert Lang and Sam Perkins would represent an improvement... heck, Clubber Lang would help.

I like that build for the future thats the way to go. I would package KT and the NYK second round to any team that will give up a late first rounder and take Outlaw. This guy I think will make an impact one day. He is very athletic almost in the mold of a T-Mac may take time to develop but at 6'9'' he can jump out the building, has a very good handle for a guy his size. The NYK front line would be great. Outlaw sf, Lang c, and Lampe pf.
