Will the Celtics try and pull out the knicks big men(Z-BO Curry) to play on the perimitter against KG , or will Pierce and Ray Allen do the damage from the outside ? Can the knicks guards stop the speedy Rajon Rando from making minced meat out of them ?

Will Allan Houston be allowed to get into the game and show the knicks fans that he still has something left in the tank?

Curry and Z-Bo has something to show Isiah, but will the pg's for the knicks know when and how to feed them the rock when they both are on the court together.

Jamal Crawford will he emerge as the equailzer when Ray Allen starts to heat up?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I'm nervous about this one. They can hurt us in a lot of ways.

Why would they have to pull Curry and Z-Bo out of the paint? Not like they are going to block any shots....

It doesn't really matter what Boston does on offense. We already know they have 3 top players and those guys will get their points. We have to play our game and look to wear out their bigs with our power game. As much as they can hurt us with their shooting, we can hurt them with our post game. They're going to likely be very active defensively. It's the only way they can slow us down is to double the ball. So we'll have to move and pass well. I saw a lot of that at times with Jamal and Lee in our other game. Pick and roll with those two and others seemed to be part of the game plan. We still have very quick guards in Steph, Jamal and Nate, so they'll have to deal with our quickness too.

Our 2nd unit is going to have to continue to be a source of strength for this team. We're deeper than they are and you have to hope that at some point that can be an advantage for us. We'll see. I really look forward to seeing how this team progresses over the course of the season. I expect them to get better as they settle into this new tandem of Zach and Curry and whatever rotation Isiah settles on.

Rondo will have free rain if the knicks don't clog the middle.

No knick starter has proven to stay in front of super quick pg's

It works both ways. When our guards decide to penetrate no one can stop them either. If our guards slash in and draw KG, they only have to make that short feed to his man and we'll be in good shape. For us its about continuing to attack the basket the way we usually do and even more so now.

Knicks Set for Boston Test Tonight
Oct. 17, 2007

The new-look Eastern Conference will be on display tonight in Boston, as Zach Randolph and the Knicks take on Kevin Garnett and the Celtics in a preseason meeting at TD Banknorth Garden.

Much has been made of the influx of talent that has come into conference in the off-season. Boston, in particular, has made over its roster, adding Ray Allen and perennial MVP-candidate Garnett. The team's new core of Paul Pierce, Allen and Garnett has brought visions of a championship to Celtics fans.

The Knicks, meanwhile, with a healthy roster and a unique post presence in Eddy Curry, Zach Randolph and David Lee are also poised for a maor turnaround this season, and these two teams will likely stage some furious battles over the next few years.

Tonight's preseason game is just the beginning of what will certainly be a renewed rivalry between the Knicks and Celtics. Knicks guard Jamal Crawford said he recognizes this game's significance, even if its result won't show up in the standings.

"It's just the preseason, but these are guys you are going to see all season long so its important to send a message and see where we stack up against the upper echelon teams in the Atlantic," Crawford said.

Many pundits have proclaimed the Celtics this season's "team to beat" in the East, so this game represents a kind of measuring stick that will help the Knicks see where they stand in the division and conference. While fans will look to see how different this Celtics team looks from ones in years past, that's not a focus for the Knicks players.

"I'm more excited to see how we'll do against them than to see what they look like," Crawford said. "I've seen them on TV but I'm excited to test our skills against theirs."

Tonight's game won't just help the Knicks measure their own progress -- it will also be the first game in which Curry and Zach Randolph have worked down low together outside of practice. This will be a learning experience for the team's two big men -- and a big test, since it's not always easy for two dominant big men will work together, sharing the same post space.

Curry had no concerns as he looked forward to the game at practice on Monday.

"I'm excited to go up against Garnett," he said. "With Zach, it will kind of even it out a little bit. Boston's got a great team. KG obviously is a great player, and has been one for a real long time, but I feel like with the moves that they've made, we're going to have some great matchups for years to come."

Crawford said he is particularly excited about the Curry-Randolph combination and can't wait to see how these players perform in Boston.

"Eddy and Zach look good," Crawford said. " Zach's done a good job feeding Eddy down in the post, and they look good playing together."

The Knicks also understand that this Celtics team will be one that they are measured against in the near future and that games against Boston take on new meaning given the hype surrounding the Celtics. Nevertheless, tonight's game is still about preparing for the regular season more than anything else, and if a statement can be made in the process, so much the better.

"We're looking forward to just playing," said guard Nate Robinson. "We're going to treat them just like any other team we've got to play. … We're just getting ready for them and taking each one of these games as steps getting ready for the season. It's big for our confidence and hopefully we can get past them."

Robinson is also excited about tonight's Curry-Randolph debut.

"I've seen Eddy and Zach together in training camp," he said. "They did real well together. It's not going to surprise our team, but it's going to surprise the world when they see what the two of them can do together"

That's the part I am worried about. Marbury has been missing a lot at the rim and he is not the drive and dish kind of guy, just the drive part. And if Crawford settles for the J too much....

This game isn't on TV????? That's BS! We're playing against a potentially great team, and get to see the Curry/Z-Bo duo and Houston (Possibly) for the first time. But hey, I would just love to see the Nets manana.

If our pg play "the right way" insert mardy collins if they don't, we should crush the celtics if both benches play about the same amount of time.

We have the most energetic bench in the league who likes to press you.

My concern is the stoic pg play from stephon marbury when it comes to getting other guys involved inn the flow of a game.

The game should be on the nba package from directv. It is being broadcast in Boston.
fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate
