Why do I think that if the title was "Big Surprise: Curry has gained 20 lbs; Marbury says he hates Knicks Fan's mothers" Trueblue would have a link on the forum by 1:02?

LMFAO @ estimates to be around the 275 range. What's the +/- on the 275? And I already said he looks like he's 285lbs, which would be within the 275 range. And I also alluded to the fact the dude puts on weight as the season progresses, so it's subtraction by addition with the weight loss. I guess they don't have any scales around to weigh the players. Seasons end EY will be 300lbs pounds he's a genetic freak.

^ I agree with TrueBlue. This is only noteworthy if EY continues to lose weight and stay in shape... for an entire season.

Right, god forbid we give the guy we have been slamming all summer for being a fat lazy ass some props for working hard this off-season. your Negative Nancy label is well deserved.

We've already had this discussion in depth Solace except the Lovers as always want to have it both ways. He lost 12lbs coming into the exiled LB season and has lost 20lbs coming into the ABS owns season. That's approximately 35lbs he's lost in 2 yrs. If he's in the 275lb range now and never puts on weight as the season progresses, that means after his first yr getting a new deal with us he ballooned to approximately 310lbs.

Snicker Doodle at this NewBornbury Revelation.

275 pounds for Curry is great. I dont want him going any lighter than 270 pounds though. He has a big frame and should remain a big powerful man.

Don't misunderstand me, RemBee. So far this has the potential for good progress. His track record indicates that we should wait and see how he lasts for a full season, though. He'll get much props from me if he can stay in shape.

Newsworthy: This summer we had a 180 post thread on the fact that Curry was eating Chicken Alfredo during a SLAM magazine interview. But Curry losing weight isn't newsworthy? We had another long thread just a few weeks ago about Bynum losing weight, that’s more newsworthy I guess even though he doesn't even play for the Knicks.

For me Solace it isn't about a pounds watch. The knock on Curry has always been that he doesn't take his professional responsibilities seriously, and isn't passionate about Basketball. While I personally think the caricature of him as a hot-dog downing blob comparable to Ghostbuster's Slimer is ridiculously off the mark, the criticism has been somewhat justified.

His shedding pounds, then, is a sign that he is "getting it". Just one sign, yes. And sure, he has had a tendency to defy science and gain weight while playing 35 mins per over 81 games.

We can say it isn't newsworthy because we should all expect these professional athletes to take their responsibilities seriously. I'm sympathetic to that point of view. The reality is, a lot of these guys, especially the young ones, don't. They are still basically kids playing a playground game for a living who take the millions they are paid each year for granted. Damn, even Shaq would take the off-season off and play himself into shape by the post-season.

The guys who win every year are the consummate professionals. So do I think a strong sign that a franchise cornerstone is joining their ranks is newsworthy?

Damn skippy I do.

^ Ok, RemBee, I'll adjust my phrasing. I think our views are reasonably similar in some senses, so I'll put it this way: It's noteworthy, but I'm not convinced unless he proves he can keep it up over the long term. If he does, I will be quite impressed.

Right, Solace. I haven't read anyone saying we might as well make Curry an all-star right now.

If he lost the weight that is a good sign. Nothing to complain about there. Step one completed. Step 2 is the most important. Have the weight loss translate to improved play on the defense and the boards. Let us pray.

More importantly, did Curry gain a heart? Or will we just see more of this:

Ugh. A bunch of us were at that game. That was just embarassing. He got outworked on the boards on the final play by 93 year old Cliff Robinson. It's unbelievable when a front court of Mikki Moore, Cliff Robinson and Jason Collins wrecks your front court.

That one wasn't his fault because he was boxing out Jefferson then when the ball bounced off the rim heading to the left Robinson was able to run in and tip the ball in quicker than Curry was able to leave Jefferson and box out Robinson. Jefferies who was Jeffersons man should have been looking to box out Robinson and seal the left side off since Curry was sealing off the middle from Jefferson.

Yes out of many great plays over the 06-07 season lets concentrate on an over the back foul that went uncalled.
Looks to me Curry was the only Knick that even had rebounding position on his man.

Why dont you go look at the tip in to win the game over the bobcats?

Why do you 8 posters always only focus on the negative no matter what the issue regarding Knicks players?

If Curry loses weight bash him
If Curry gains weight bash him
If Curry stays the same weight bash him.

Whats the use of even replying?

[Edited by - COSSUCKS on 10-04-2007 3:27 PM]

Do you even know what an over the back foul is? I really doubt it if you think Cliff committed a foul there.

The Knicks were already out of the playoffs when they won that meaningless game. Unlike that Nets game.

Why do you bother replaying?
