I say lets stockpile the team with youngins!! At #9 a guy like Lampe with size and skills comparable to Dirk could help the knicks, then we should package a player and the second round pick and move up in the draft and take a player like Outlaw and with the other 2nd round pick take a James lang.. This will give us a young core of good cheap players to build around, who know you may get lucky and have a gem out of these picks, the draft is deep with young talent with a lot of upside and the knicks need to take advantage!!!

Trade the 9th, KT, Spree, 31st and next years number one for Rasheed Wallace and Daniels and Portlands number one. With the Blazers pick take Outlaw and with NYK second round pick take Lang/Perkins/Vranes. I prefer Lang. Eith the exception go after a FA veteran big man Miller. Hope and pray again for Dice. Giving you a line up of:
Wallace sf
Dice pf
Brad Miller c
Houston sg
Daniels g

Bench: Lang, Anderson, Spoon, Outlaw, Williams, Eisley, Harrington.
This team would no longer have an height issue and the players are athletic and capable of playing above the rim.

That starting five would definitely smack our current squad, I must admit...

Could Chaney control 'Sheed?

All I know is that the knicks may have to overpay just to get good again. I might throw in another future first rounder to get this deal going. As for the Chaney controlling Sheed I think a change of senery will do him good similar to Spree. Just have to set the rules with Sheed. Everything is a risk a player can get injured warming up so I would take a chance on Sheed.

Good point, and Spree proved that naysayers can be wrong, as did Rodman in Chicago. If by some act of divine mercy Dice returned healthy and Sheed had a new lease on life and a sense of urgency to finish his career on a good note, (And Brad Miller or $$$Kandi) The squad would instantly be a contender for the duration of H20's contract.

*If Milos comes in next year, all the better. If JKidd moves to San Antonio or Seattle, all the better. Shaq demands a trade? all the better. At the end of Houston's deal, LeBron or TMac will be ready for Broadway.

Ok...now back to the reality of Dolan.

You think Milos will ever suit up in a NY Uniform? I like your thinking about LeBron and TMac...but I think TMac is gonna stay in Magic land - I dont see Lebron being a Cav for life - he just entered one dysfunctional atmosphere. He just needs some NBA time before he leaves for the bright lights of a better city (I see LA, maybe NY but with our history I doubt it). Sheed should be a Knick and I am glad others are thinking this way, I have thought it ever since I saw the Blazers go 7 with the Lakers. If we can get him thats step #1 towards being legitimate again. The rest can fall into place after. But we need a new cornerstone and we didnt win one in the draft.

i agree. if i was the knicks i would just take the best two players available at every pick. no matter the position. even if it ended up being two shooting guards

Then somebody might start shooting you! We can't take on no more shooting guards unless we have a deal to get rid of some.

... for some reason, I get the feeling we're going to end up with Nick Collison. I wish someone would wake me up from this nightmare.

What teams have the knicks traded with the most under laydens tenure in NY? Well that is who we will trade with. We had a few almost trades last yr and with spree yrs left on his contract dwindling down he may be attractive even more to some teams out there.

Oh no that would be my nightmare. One thing is for sure you can bet there is a deal coming that will involve the pick that is the most valueable asset the Knicks have.

As for TMac (Or LeBron), he plays the same position as H20, so we can begin drafting the support for TMac now, under the guise of trying to help Houston. When his contract expires, the draftees will have a couple of years under their belts, Dice will be gone, maybe we'd have Sheed and Miller (as per VMart) then we'd have enough to sign the real superstar 2 guard for the real 100 mil. His supporting cast will already be in place. Without Shaq in his prime, (he's already on the other side now), I don't see LeBron or Tracy needing Los Angeles in 2006.

I think you are looking far to ahead. there is no way that T-Mac leaves Orlando they do everything possible to sign him. As for LeBron well as you know the Cavs are committed to him for the last three years now. LeBron won't be about the money because he will get that through endorsements. If I'm the Knicks I try and get Travis Outlaw and make him in the mold of T-Mac he is athletic and has very good handle and his athletic ability is right up there with Young T-Mac and Kobe.

los angelas, california and cleveland ohio are two different worlds KNIXPHAN.

if you were lebron james you would rather stay in ohio... rather than move to the bright lights and the playoffs?

i agree VMART that pick and not sprewell is the most valuable asset the knicks currently have. noone is breaking their necks to get over the salary cap. didn't you get the feeling when granik announced that the knicks had the 9th pick that general managers were licking their chops...
