Buys out JJfat, Dickau and Marbleheadbury would this change your impression on Isiah. We can go to war with a team of
Mardy
Crawful
Q if healthy - if not JJ2
Randolph
Curry

I'm just thinking out loud, if Thomas is really looking toward a future without Marbury why not start it now?

Why are so many people against Stephon? Stephon is not the problem. He plays well. We need defense. Replacing Stephon wont do much for the team defense.

or offense. trading him while we have asll o f this talent on the team is a bad idea. let it all play out, he expires in another year.

Steph has always played ball. Excluding the lost season with larry brown, he never had a problem playing basketball. He's been hit with the crazy stick this off-season, but I expect him to be on his job when its game time.

Then again, how big would isiahs balls have to be if he just waived marbury? Right now we are all excited about the future. nate and collins have shown great signs that they could eventually start at point for the knicks. Then there is this kid from marist that is compared to steve blake, but described as a "magician" and could eventually be as good as kidd, nash, or stockton, lol.

Be easy. Things will play out but there has to be some degree of patience. I'm ready to pull the trigger though if someone completely blows us out of the water with their play this season.

What are you talking about? Stephon is one of the worst defensive point guards in the entire league. If you're saying we need defense, Steph should be one of the first guys you'd want gone, no? We gave him credit for *trying* last year, but he still sucked on defense on many nights. Take that, his me-first attitude and his cancerous precence on the team and it's obvious why most people would want to replace Steph. A team with Stephon Marbury is a team in disarray, until proven otherwise.

Solace - worst defensive point guards? Not really.

Say what you want bout his off-court behavior, off-target passing, lack of high-fives, or failure to grasp the most minute details of hitting the open man but Marbury does not get abused on the defensive end.

Either Marbury is able to perform at a level to satisfy the coaching staff or he will see his minutes reduced. At that point, should he become Sulkbury, then it gets interesting and the columnists will have a field day.

One thing is certain.

Dan Dickau ain't the answer

I'm basically happy already with what Isaiah has done lately. We got two freebies in Randolph Morris and JJ3. I like the two draft picks and I like the trade for Zach a lot.

It looks to me that the "Rangers" method is in the first phase with the Knicks.
We start getting prospects and young guys.
The sulking vets (remember Lindros, Bure) are still around but their time is getting short.
The cleaning will be the next phase.
I am not sure who will go first Isiah or Marbs but this is a logical continuation.
Sutter managed to stick in like GM and Isiah can actually do it too but we need better coach and IT to go into the shadows.
If Isiah cannot be this way let him go too.
We need to clean the air of the Garden to move forward.

to me, it's not his talent that's the problem... it's the fact that we have him serving as the face of this franchise... we need to change the entire mentality of this team, & since it's obvious that Dolan & Isiah aren't going anywhere anytime soon, the next logical step is to replace Marbury with a guy who can actually project some respectability & be a role model for the younger players & not act like a buffoon in the public eye... as long as he's here i have zero faith that this team will ever contend for anything meaningful.

This is something Isiah has been doing quite well since 2005. People around here seem to forget that he's been totally revamping this roster with good young talent the last few years. Now all this talent is here for a reason and the old guard will be gone soon enough. With Steph he's a good player for us right now, as he allows us to play at a good level until the replacements are ready. I really think we are in a good position.

No.
I think Steph is in good position. Untouchable.

arkrud - if Steph does not perform up to standards he will be benched as he was at the start of last season.

i thought Zeke made his point last December and the team responded.

The million dollar question is less about team politics or guaranteed playing time (which is a myth) and more about how long Mabury's knees will hold up. But let's not deal with that. Throwing dirt balls from the bushes is more fun

I totally agree. The one thing Isiah does quite well is turnover. Foolish and blind fans can be thrown off the scent of failure by turnover.

"Ok, this didn't work, but look at how many new players we brought in, you gotta be excited about the potential of this group."

Starbury's team

The 3 first rd picks team

Curry's team

Zach's team

It's amazing that people still get fooled by this transparency. There is no plan, it's only about survival. The survival of those fat MSG paychecks being direct deposited into Isiah's bank account. Isiah knows he's never getting another job like this in the NBA, he has to do everything he can to keep this one.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
