But the good thing is that the heat, bulls and Raptors don't get in the top 3 either

The sad thing is that the Hawks lose their pick to the Bucks...haha.. talk about bad luck and management...

Well I cant say I am surprised...looks like the reward for being really bad this year is one of the top 3 in the draft.

Is anyone else really scared of Detroit now? They're already a 50 win team, and now they get Melo/Darko?

With Darko they will be a nasty team to deal with, I dont know how you guys feel but I think the East might do well in this years finals. The Nets are looking pretty good. I know the West is supposedly so much better, and I am not a Nets fan, but they do look good right now. Hopefully this is a sign that the east is getting stronger.

Which one of you two have saw Darko play? i haven't. not saying that doesn't make Darko very good but how is he the definite pick over Anthony?

Everybody's in the same boat, Ares.

Dumars is very high on Darko. They've worked him out and believe. Aldridge reported Detroit is definitely taking him and you can't blame them. They can then move Wallace to his natural position at power forward and will have a tough front line to go with an already adequate guard situation. No reflection on Carmelo... Darko just happens to represent what the Pistons and so many other NBA teams so desperately need.

No question... I'm a big Carmelo guy and like yourself... know little to nothing about Darko.

seems to me anthony is the player they need, a smll foward that rebounds, and create his own shot. Then again i don't know much about Darko. but detroit had cliff robinson and curry at small foward, and prince is not carmello. i take Anthony.

They definitely need somebody to put the ball in the hole and Carmelo fits the bill. However, with Billups, Rip and Prince (and I agree, the verdict's still out on him) they're okay. Cliff is getting older but, if they want to compete with the West, which is what you need to get a ring... they can't have Ben Wallace as their center. However, if Darko turns out to be the real deal, with Ben a PF, they'll be a force to be reckoned with... but you're right... Anthony is much more of a sure thing. They're rolling the dice taking Darko. They have to hope he doesn't turn into Sam Bowie, with Darko being the answer to another great trivia question... with Anthony possibly entering the realm of superstar status.

What about #9, our two second round picks and any number of players from our current roster for Carmelo? ... you think I'm kidding?

if emeka okafor comes out i take him at 9, i see him as a poor man kmart. we will finally get a front court guy that can jump. and with the second pick get troy bell or hatten if they fall that far. both of them are better than Williams.

That would be so sweet - but virtually impossible.

If I was the Pistons I would take Darko and here is why. They are happy with him as of now, everyone is on this kids nutz - so there must be some skill level there. Also, 7ft and ball handling/scoring skills along with rebounding is something you cant pass up. Place that next to Wallace and you have a nasty frontcourt. You need a strong frontcourt to win and they have decent guards so I would take a KG/Dirk clone and put him next to wallace any day - you tell me a GM that wouldnt do that (outside of Layden)
