If he's healthy he's still better than any of the shooting guards on the knicks roster dispite his lack of defense.

He is, but I doubt he will be 100% unfortunately.

If this was H20 in his prime, we sure could use him.

"I think I could help the Knicks by providing a stabilizing presence, leadership and by just helping guys learn how to win. Everybody knows they're talented, so the next step for them is developing habits that promote winning. Who's going to bring that? I know it sounds crazy, but if (and right now it could be a big if) they can develop those habits, they are not far away from being really good."

You think Dolan will tell Isiah to hire back his golfing buddy?

Help the team do what? Go from 11th to 10th or maybe 9th in the east?

We need him, with all of the double teams all he has to do is stand out there a shoot open shots. If he can do that for 15 - 20 minutes per game, hes worth it.

That's the quote I wanted to provide, from this article, earlier. Thank you Ira. Jamal, Eddie, Nate, all of them, need some sort of positive leadership, from someone who has experienced winning, and at the same time, knows what it takes to succeed in the NBA. I'm not saying it comes from Allan, or Malik, but we desperately need leadership.

Can't disagree with Allan on that point...

If we could free up a roster spot, that would be great. We need more of what he brings - outside shooting. And he'd be a good influence on our younger players. If we don't make a trade, we'll have to cut Duqua and Jones to get down to 15. So it's just a question of whether Dolan wants to bite the bullet and buy out either JJ1 or Malik. Dolan likes Houston, so maybe he'll go for it.

Maybe. I remember in his final season, he was so slow that the he couldn't get down court on defense and the other team's SG was getting fast break, after fast break, after fast break. Maybe after a few years off, his knee is healthier now. Or maybe it's feeling good because he's taken a few years off and after 15 games his knee will fall apart again. I think it's worth the risk to add him, but that means buying out many of the overpaid, useless veterans who should have been bought out a long time ago.

I love when people say "despite his lack of defense when referring to Houston. Allan will do such things as get up on a man, raise his arms when someone shoots and fight over a screen. A lot of guys on our team could learn a lot by how little Houston plays D

As for the roster?

Trade for AK47
Send Utah Crawford and Mardy Collins. Indlude Dickau and Fred Jones expiring deals and give them some cash.

Something like that

Player-Coach?
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

As a guy off the bench, H2O wouldn't be terrible, but I wonder just how well he's able to move now. Perhaps his knees are feeling good enough for him to be able to play Zone, which is what i'd expect we'd look to do when he's in the game. We've got some guys that could be cut to make room for him. Jones, Dickau, James or Malik. Has anyone read anything about how he looked in workouts?

Again, how does H20 fit into the picture, you still have nichols that needs a roster spot. Allan would be great, but he would be a liability on defense. He mentioned something about the right deal, he should be asking for no more than league minimum for vets.

This is nothing new. Educated fans have been saying this for a couple years now. The problem has been that we have not gone about finding guys that can help mentor our young players. Instead we keep wasting money on guys that bring equally poor habits and just contribute to the mess. It's time to take a stand. Once again I call, trim the fat!!!! We have enough talent, start bringing in some leaders.
I just hope that people will like me

The organization is the biggest joke in all sports right now and people are worried about taking minutes away from a guy that shots 40% and plays no defense. This illusion that we have good players on this roster is getting a little tiresome. We have young impressionable talent that could be corrupted by a lack of professionalism.

And Marbury killed any trade value he had after the season by his mental lapses. I would rather have Balkman play the two than crawford, the team would be much better off.
