She also said Thomas rebuffed her March 2004 request that he sign renewal-request letters sent out to past season ticket holders with a pointed shot at loyal Knick fans.
"Bitch, I don't give a f--k about these white people," Browne Sanders said Thomas told her.

Star Knick guard Stephon Marbury is expected to take the stand today. Browne Sanders said Marbury became agitated after she told him she'd have to ask Thomas if it was okay to give game credentials to Marbury's cousins.

That should be good....

Tupac, is that you?
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Will we ask for him to be fired even if he gets this team to start winning? I think we'll forget about what a douchebag he is.

He already lost his game in NY... Period.
Ant it is nothing to do with winning or losing on the bbal court.
Dolan is moron but looks like he find a way to put Isiah down the worst possible way.

I'm not going to assume Isiah didn't say that, but is there reason one should assume what Brown Sanders says is any more or less true?

And if Isiah did say this, I believe that the seeming lack of understanding about some key ways that race still plays a powerful role in society (including with us) by more than a few posters here in multiple discussions that have taken place on this forum is a factor in formulating attitudes about the alleged comment.

If one does not fully grasp this then studies show that experiencing things such as anger and resentment towards white people from people of color, no matter what kind of "power" that individual or group may seem to have currently, is going to make (mostly) whites more upset.

This does not necessarily "excuse" such behavior, but any progress in changing this cycle seems more likely to occur if we as whites take these kinds of comments less personally, and more in the context of race and power in current society.

By late 2004, Browne Sanders said, Thomas had warmed to her after a game of horse at a December holiday party. Thomas beat the former Northwestern hoops star in the popular playground game, and the two slapped hands afterward.

"I figured it out when we played horse," she said Thomas told her after a 2004 Knicks victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves. "I'm in love with you. It's like the movie 'Love and Basketball.'"

it's no biggie. basketball gets him hot. i'm the same way.

It is no difference in blacks cursing whites or whites cursing blacks. Racism is racism. People are racist regardless the color of their skin. This is the color or the soul. And it is not acceptable regardless.
It is bad when this stuff is coming up inside family or close group of simple people but it is very bad when people on big public display are acting this way. This people must be punished publicly to make a point that the society is not accepting racism in any form. No exceptions.

we all have biases and prejudices about different races. and anybody that denies that is lying to themselves. it's the society we were raised in, the portrayals of race in media growing up, and things told to us by people that influence our upbringing. everyone has these biases.

isiah is no different...BUT you do not say stuff like that in a work atmosphere. i don't know if he did BUT there were articles and reports from former CBA owners that said isiah acted the same way in their meetings and said things in a hostile manner.

and the unfortunate thing is despite whether what isiah thomas said was true or not - the garden, it's marketing, pr, season ticket sales staff, phone attendants, etc all have to feel the brunt of fans thinking that he DID say those things.

Racism and bias is prevalent IN EVERY SOCIETY on the planet. On every continent, in every city, in every town and in every family. It is not something that has come about because of our television and the way our society functions. The particular types of racisms are products of our society, but the fact that racism exists is not.

Yup, since the beginning of time.

This is officially brought public, Isiah is screwed, whether he said it or not.

Dolan might have no choice BUT to fire him.

I'm with you, whether he said these things or not, Isiah will be treated as if he did. It's a shame if she was lying. I find myself in situations like this almost hoping that the allegations are true so that an innocent person doesn't have to suffer through false allegations. In this case at some point Isiah is going to come back with his side of the story and it will make Anucha sound horrible. Then at that point I will be hoping that what Isiah says is true so that she doesn't get the same treatment. These things never turn out well for the liar or the one telling the truth.

Probably they will...
But can they pay off the public opinion?
Can they pay off to the Knick fans? And will they?
Probably not.

Anybody want to go to the trial with me later?

I want to catch Starbury's testimony. I gotta see that in person.

Why would you assume that statement from the Anucha camp is true? Isiah denies it and I believe in innocent until proven guilty
