Marion and raja bell for craw, Jared, dickau, and fred Jones.

How's that for defense?

Breaking it down, the suns get an extra ball handler that could help Nash. Also craw provides a better scoring option than raja and barbosa. In an open offfense craw would go nuts. Also if ak-47 was talked about in a trade for Marion then Jared can go to pheonix. They also get the cap relief from dickau and Jones.

Knicks look like:

Zach
Marion
Curry
Marbs
Raja

Nate, Collins, balkman, and lee still on the team.

Any idea for ak-47?

hate to say it but raja for craw would be a fair trade. any mention of marion is fantasy-ville.

true. and trading for ak-47 is too risky. we are basically getting a Camby.

i don't see Phoenix doing it because of how important Raja is to their team.

craw for raja isnt even a fair trade. raja is a top 3 defensive guard in the league and a better/more consistent shooter than craw. craw for raja alone would give us 5-8 more wins.

If we throw in the next three draft picks...and include balkman or lee...maybe they do it. I like the idea of Marion at the 3...I just dont think he is coming cheap.

As was pointed out, Phoenix isn't giving up Marion and Bell for Crawford and players who wouldn't crack their rotation. What we'd have to give up to get those players makes it a bad trade for us, because Marion is getting old (29) and he wouldn't be enough to allow us to contend for a title.

Suns are probably trying to get rid of Marion to give Diaw more playing time since Amare came back successfully. Marion will not come cheap. He only has 1 more year left in his contract after this year similar to Marbury. We would have to send Jamal, Balkman and Malik as filler for Marion. Is that a steep price? I love my Balkster but the Matrix is just tantalizing.

I think some of you guys are over rating marion- I mean he's a good player, but he isn't a 'star', he's going to be thirty next year- so his best years are pretty much behind him- and he's a max player.

I wouldn't mind getting him if we cleared our log jam, got rid of some longer term deals like crawford & jj2 and didn't have to include anyone like balkman or chandler-

otherwise, I'd rather wait 2-3 years and see if Balkman/Chandler turns into a better than or comparable player to marion

Here's a trade idea:


Jerry Colangelo for Isiah Thomas and some of his popcorn. We'll even throw in a swap of Sarver for Dolan with a conditional 1st round draft pick.

Oh, we already owe them one, hmmm...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

probably true but i would never do it. i love the matrix but i don't have a great feeling about his body holding up. he's logged a lot of pounding minutes at pf plus running up and down the court. i could see him losing some of his effectiveness fairly soon. not to mention that he doesn’t step up his game when it's needed in the playoffs.

a david lee/cap relief for marion trade would not be impossible... can you imageine phoenix with Lee/Amare ??? yikes... but this will also never happen... and wouldent even really make snese for the kniks

the reason marion isn't worth giving up the house for is bc he's getting old and his game is 80% athleticism, and 15% having a good point guard that can set him up like nash.

still don't get how dolan let isiah make the zach trade with this trial coming up but why make a deal now when we have no idea who will be the gm 6 months from now.
