I hate to break it to you, but there is no one on the Knicks roster that will get Bynum. I'd say management is pretty high on the kid when they turned down, essentially, a Kidd for Bynum swap.
When you have Kobe Bryant and can surround him with Jason Kidd you do THAT deal, or something on that level. DLeethal wrote:

OK, and then Kidd breaks down after a year or 2, and you still didn't win a championship and Bynum begins to flourish. What then?

some combo of Curry for Bynum & Odom- Curry would work well with Kobe and I could see Jackson going for that kind of deal- I think Curry would play better in the triangle since things get spaced out.
If Bynum doesn't develop for us- we still get Odom and he balances out the team in terms of passing rebounding. |

Posted by franco12: I'd like that, but I don't think they'd throw in Odom with Bynum for just Curry. But we would have to take someone else, if Curry was the guy we traded for cap reasons. We could throw in Malik and they could add Kwame Brown's expiring contract. |

Eddy Curry would be the perfect trade for Bynum.
#1 Bynum would be close to home in Jersey and Zach Randolph has his shotblocker center playing along side of him for the future. Nobody can ever again waltz down the lane against the knicks without getting their shot block or altered with Bynum there. Kareem's tutledge of Bynum along with a fresh start would be very beneficial to the young lad being close to home around his family.

It would have to be Bynum, Critteton(?), and a unprotected first round pick for Curry. Despite the views of people on this board, Curry is a valued player around the league. He makes a decent salary, demands doubleteams, and is still young enough for other GMs to believe he can improve on his weaknesses. You put Curry (who cannot be guarded one on one) with Kobe (who cannot be guarded one on one) along with Odom, Walton, Farmer, who ever else the Lakers and find, and that team will be tough in the West even with Curry playing so-so defense.

Posted by TheGame: I don't think other GMs believe he can improve on some of his weakness- he's always going to be a poor defender & rebounder. What he might be able to do is improve his turn overs/passing- and that's where being traded to a team like the Lakers could help- he just wouldn't face the hard doubles like he did last year, and probably will again this year- in part because they have kobe, but also because Phil Jackson & the triangle would maximize his passing- Dallas is another team that I could see doing well with Curry. And as far as his salary- he's cheap now, relatively speaking- but he has an opt out soon that he probably will exercise and expect a max type deal- that is the other reason I'd be thrilled to trade him now. |

Right, and the only thing Curry is better at, than Bynum is low post scoring and Bynum is improving at that too. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute
