B/c he's the only real player worth watching on the team?
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Most Knick fans(me espically) go to Knick games for 2 reasons ... David Lee and Renaldo Balkman.
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

DLee is what NewYorkers want - hardworking person with a piece of mind. Not a superhuman but one of us, who reached the almost buried "American dream" not only because he 7' or can jump high. We are sick and tired of dumb ignorant mofos. And Kobe will not make much difference as he is also one of this kind.

We can test that theory by seeing whether other teams' websites have their "franchise" players or guys who look more like "the All-American, hard-working standard bearer of things comfortable and familiar"

I would submit that Kobe is intelligent enough to play the game at an elite level only reached by a hanful of NBA players.

what i saw in the web site they had quite a few knicks advertising not just lee. i saw nate, crawford and curry advertisement as well as lee, though lee is front and center. amazing that he is starting to be the face of the franchise even though he might be off the bench again ( though i think isiah's hand is forced to start him as a small forward).

Marbury was given the keys to the franchise and was afforded every opportunity that most franchise players are given.

Marketing Marburys urban image is just the same as Marketing Dlees blue collar white image.

There are fans that flocked to Iverson because he was "hiphop" and there are some that want to see a handsome white kid also.

Regarding Kobe, and most great players, they are really arrogant SOBs but that is part of what makes them who they are. I think if we really knew Jordan we might not like him all that much either.

Kobe really does not bother me. he has been an immature arrogant superstar who has learned some very valuable lessons in life.

Arrogance comes with the professional territory. It's an extension of the arrogance to holler, "who got next" upon arrival at the playground, and then stay on the court against any challengers.

Arrogance bleeds from every single pore of every dude who ever got paid to beat someone else at something.

Humility, as honorable a trait as it may be, ain't necessarily the ticket.

Arrogant does not mean dumb. Arrogance is a character flaw found in many of the greats. Kobe Bryant strikes me as exceptionally smart .. at least when compared to other NBA players.
