I don't know about any of you guys, but I would pay MONEY to get NBA on NBC back.

I'm even thinking about boycotting games next year except on MSG because of how bad it's gotten.

The NBA's *****-ass defense rules, and horrible joke coverage is killing my basketball buzz. I'm serious.

Games used to matter, they used to be an EVENT. I used to get PUMPED UP for them. Now it's just *bleh*. And the TV ratings prove it. San Antonio/Cleveland series lowest ratings of all time.

What is the commisioner ****in [U]ASLEEP at the wheel???[/I]

92 EC Semis, not Finals, Game 6 vs Bulls is one of my favorite games of all time.

NBA on NBC, and to a lesser extent CBS, was a Golden Age for a lot of us in our 30's.

It's just not about the game anymore with them.

TNT I can live with.

Me too. It's just unwatchable now. No less than 50% of Sportscenter is self promotion for ESPN/ABC. If I watch anything to get a score or to see a highlight, it's always ESPNNews which is closer to what SportsCenter used to be than the actual SportsCenter.

I wish CNNSI was still on the air.

As for the NBA on NBC comments, I miss it too. Mostly because the guys calling the games didn't friggin suck. If I have to listen to Al Michaels call another championship game, I'll just complain about it endlessly. The guy has no chemistry with anyone in any booth and his been writing paychecks off of the "do you believe in miracles.. YES!!!" line for decades now. Interesting tidbit about that call was he used that exact line before. He was calling (I think) a minor league baseball game and used that. If you've ever listened to the USA Russia game and wondered why that sounded so manufactured and over-the-top, that's why (edit: I'm looking for a source to back this up, but It's very possible it is hearsay. I read about this in Bill Simmons' mailbag, so maybe it isn't actually true. Either way, I'm no fan of Al Michaels current body of work).

Also, I really miss John Tesh's theme music and I want him to provide the soundtrack of my life.

Regardless, TNT's coverage is real solid. They have a ton of great guys doing their games. Not to mention the halftime show is the only one I watch for any station or sport.

word, NBA on NBC on the weekends were an event for sure... that theme music got my blood pumping.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

wow, NBA on NBC was the greatest. The whole introduction, from the music to the build-up story for the upcoming game was brilliant. As TMS said NBA on NBC was on weekends was definetely an event. Part of what made NBA on NBC so good was the amount of rivalries in the NBA back then. They're arent any strong rivalries really left in the NBA but it still would be nice to see them change back to NBC when the deal with ABC is done.

Here's what else I have to say, and it'll probly go on deaf ears, but I am SICK & TIRED of Jewboy Stern ruining the league's toughness (shutup, I'm half jewish).

That guy has got to go. I know what he's doing. He's trying to get rid of defense all together to increase the # of superstars and get the league back to where it was when Michael was around; plus to appease the European product.

Well guess what, he's KILLING the league. TRUE superstars surface agains the best competition, not some puzzy-ass touch-foul league.

True superstars are born not bred. You can't just create them by making the league softer around them.

Why the **** do you think Lebron looked so damn good against Detroit?

Back in the 90's, Lebron would've been DESTROYED. He'd be eating hardwood all day until he got his jumper fixed.

People kept telling me after Bron's 40 point performance against Detroit how amazing it was. Pshh, well I'm just old enough to remember a day when Jordan at the same age was eating floor and couldn't get past the Bad Boys.

I remember when superstars had to EARN respect.....earn Finals appearances.

Now the Pistons can't win because Stern's handicapping defense; putting it in a wheelchair; banishing it to the depths of the cellar along with VHS and Cassettes.

Only guy that would've survived back then is Wade, who takes it hard to the paint no matter what. And even then, look at his body now.

Guys don't need to work for it anymore. They don't have to work hard and earn respect b/c Stern is handing the keys over to them. Why work hard for stardom when it's inherited?

Dirk as MVP?

Nash winning 2 straight MVP's?

Are you kidding me???

Nash isn't even as good as Stockton was (granted it's close). For him to win 2 straight MVP's is disgraceful.

And for Dirk to win an MVP at all is even worse; that guy showed heart ONCE in his whole career in Game 7 against San Antonio, and now all of a sudden he's a "beast"?

It's really sad. Stern is ****ing up the NBA from the inside out. He' just like Dolan; all business, all $$$.

Doesn't care if the product suffers integrity as long as it makes him money; as long as it's selling off the shelves in bulk.......in the form of an 8 year, 7.6 billion $$ deal with ABC.

PATHETIC.

Say goodbye to basketball until 2016 folks.

bobs3304 - LeBron's game agains the Pistons was quite a feat. At least relative to what the game has become with the no hand-checking rule emphasis on perimeter and one on one play. Yes, it s less impressive because of the rules today, but in the context of the last decade, LeBron had one of the top 10 games by any player. Let's not piss on LeBron because of the times he plays in.

I agree with you on Nash winning the MVP. Thats a lot of white reporters rigging the vote IMO.

ok.. you're right. He totally sucks and is probably one of the worst players to ever lace em up. I mean...if he is supposed to be good why do i even watch the NBA anymore?
