Well my fellow Knick fans, it is nice to dream about the #1 ball poping up in Blue and Orange. Just like it would have been nice last year...imagine Yao in an NY Uniform. However like last year, it isnt going to happen. There is too much Lebron talk on this board for a team with 1.9% chance of winning. The lotto isnt rigged, its not going to be like when Ewing came. We need to face reality...trades and picks from #9 on are what we have to deal with. Forget lotto heaven - I would love to be proven wrong but I just dont see that happening.

Much worse than picking 9 would be if one or more teams behind the Knicks got into the top three.

you are 100% correct, and in addition as long as miami or Toronto don't get a top 3, I will be happy also.....

I dont want to see Miami for obvious reasons - however I also dont want to see Cleveland or Chicago or Memphis in the top 3 - and I wish they werent in the top 5. Why should their history of losing be rewarded? Denver too for that matter - although they need the pick. These other teams have plenty of talent and have been stocking up on draft picks for several seasons. They should just dedicate themselves to working harder at winning instead of lotto balls.

I totally agree with you I am not big on teams that tank getting the best opportunity at a pick. I have been in favor of a lottery system that gives the inverse order after the 5th pick. Making the top 5 picks a lottery pick and the rest after the top 5 the best record on. I would still give the most ping pong balls to the worst team only thing that would be different is that the top 5 picks can be chose by lottery and the rest would be in order of best record instead of worst record.

Ice, that's exactly why the NBA changed the lottery... because the team with the worst record never wins... the odds of an upset are much less than it was in years past. We'll see but, I'm counting on Layden making a boneheaded move with #9. lol

when did that change take place, cause Houston won last year and The Wizards won the year before. and neither had the worst records. the bulls won, one year and the spurs won it when every one knew a twin Towers would be unstopable. Seems like something is fishy to me.

Memphis aint winning sheet, they lost there pick unless it's Lebron, and if they come back with the same team they may win 5 more games. they suck

They changed the lottery percentages after the Tim Duncan lottery....I don't think it has changed since.

Here you go Pike.

http://www.nba.com/history/lottery_probabilities.html

It doesn't look like the lottery has changed over the past several years.
