I just don't get this trade, and why is everybody shooting down the knicks as if they didn't lose 2/3 of ther roster for the last 8 weeks of the season .

Ray Al and PP are essential not that great any more, both or better yet all three have been part of loosing teams primarly there whole careers.

Ray and PP were damage goods last year for a good part of the sason and are pretty much on the down side of ther careers just like SPREE and CASSEL.

Just like the Nets and WIZ, three stars gets you to the 1st or 2nd round, pending injuries you may not get a playoff spot all together.

The idea of putting 3 great players together all in ther 30s is stupid when you don't at least have 1 or 2 yound studs on your team . And Doc River is not that great of coach, nor does he have the expierence or resume to do anything other then a 1st rnd bust.
If anybody thinks that the knicks didn't have enough to get KG, there basketball knowledge is that of an infant, Especially considering the Gms that made the deal.
History alone is poof that putting veteren players together just doesn't really cut it, Everybody knows this .
You mix young super stars( wade, parker, kobe, lebron, cassel ) with veteren super stars.

Lets be honest with ourselves this is never going to work and Kg was right to nix the deal in the begining. Most Vetern players break down and ray and PP have miss a lot of time in the the last couple of season.

dude, they got a core group and then some for atleast 2 more years. Adding players to fill the holes won't be as hard.

You really can't have anything but praise for the level of players that KG, Pierce and Allen are. They're cream of the crop players. We'll have to see if they can win that title together or at least make it to the finals. They're gonna be a top team no doubt about it. It's just that it's such a grind and it's really more than just pure talent when it comes to winning a title. How well a group of players comes together as a unit and who you play in the playoffs plays a big part in it.

Just imagine that Dallas didn't face the Warriors. Things might have been different. How about the Suns against the Spurs. Maybe if Nash doesn't crack his nose and if they didn't get that suspension, they may have gotten thru. So there's no guarantees, but that Celtics teams looks pretty damn good in the East.

Oh, and by the way, you're dead wrong.
The top 3 players on your team win championships.
See San Antonio, Miami, L.A., etc, etc. These are TOP players at their positions.

Imagine the Spurs without Horry, Finley, Barry and Bowen and replace those guys with scrubs. How far do Duncan Ginobli and Parker go by themselves? Better than the Celts more than likely because they have Parker as a PG at least.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

The Celtics have the MLE and LLE and Veterans exception.

They can find a backup C like PJ Brown.
They have a good player coming back in Tony Allen.
They can sign Dan Dickau when we cut him.

Exactly- you can only put five players on the court at once, and the team that has the best 2-3 on the court at any time win.

San Antonio has Duncan, Parker, Ginobili- and then the talent drops off a bit from there- they get role players in that do one thing well.

Yes, I think a Bowen is hard to find.
We'll see. Isiah made a one sided trade for us for the first time, maybe Ainge can actually do something smart here and fill out the roster. I'll believe it when I see it.

The KG Celts will wins as many championships as the Rockets after they got Barkley and the Hawks after they got Moses Malone and Reggie Theus.

Ahh, nice! I don't think the Celtics win championships. I don't think they get out of the east this season either. A lot depends on who they add to run with these 3.

Boston finally got it right, let's stop acting like these three guys are not elite at their position. Kudos for Boston, they went out and did the damm thing. We would be drooling if we had those three, so we just have to man up that the entire east has gotten stronger/improved. The mentality of NBA teams nowadays is ALL IN, we need to go ALL IN. The only team built for a dynasty or multiple titles is the spurs, everyone else builds their team to take one in SA's off year.

Toney allen...add him to the (only played half a season last year) list . This team is far from a lock to come out of the east this year, and they have about as good a shot as about 8 oher teams including us.

Quality Role players matter a lot, along with young stars, this roster has neither or (if i'm not giving any of the players the havey already the benifit of the doubt) un proven..
The last 10 championships had that, boston doesn't. The only team in the east that has it is miami and if shaq and wade can't play at least 65 games together, then there in trouble.

I would like to know ( if im so wrong) when was the last time 3 veteren super stars (with a least 2 of them being new),coming from other teams won a ring.
You really think 2 years from now these guys will be all stars. If they don't at least make it to the finals this year, one of them will be gone( probably not KG ) the window of oppertunity for this little group is as small as i ever seen.
