celtics were anticipating the #1 or #2 pick overall. if they got it, pierce may have been traded and the celtics are moving in a completely different direction.

but the ball bounces another way, and before you know it, ainge is cashing in and getting ray + kg to join pierce.

seattle was somewhat stuck in no man's land but they end up with the #2 pick, 4 weeks later and both ray and rashard were traded.

the luck of the bounce.

Yeah that's why i'm not that crazy about leaving things up to those ping pong balls. It's too darned crazy. With the way things have been going for us, we'd be just like Bos and end up with nothing.

The bounce of those balls really effected the way this offseason has gone all the way around. Zach coming East. KG and Allen coming East. Rashard Lewis coming East.

boston didn't end up with nothing.

i think going into this summer ainge had 2 plans:

1. win the lotto, take oden/durant and rebuild
2. cash in

boston lost out the lottery so ainge decided to cash in.

ray + kg in the same offseason is pretty darn impressive.

As I said to you before, DJ, Danny Ainge's plans changed when the lotto balls bounced in the complete opposite geographical direction of Boston.

Pretty much tanking the season away gave the Celts the #5 pick = RAY ALLEN

#15 pick + #18 pick (Big Al & Gerald Green) + exp deal + #7 pick (Telfair) + future 1st = KG

#5 + #7 + #15 + #18 = two All-Stars/KG (future HOF)

...Minny has rebuilt (Foye/Green/McCants/Brewer/Big Al/future center) - plus they will have their own future HIGH picks to continue rebuilding

...Sea has rebuilt (Delonte/DURANT/Jeff Green plus Ridnour/Petro/Saer Sene) - similarly own picks to continue the rebuild

NIX...no offense or anything, I would like to be any of these three teams rather than having Zach Randolph. Plus they will have cap space waaaay sooner than us.

HOPEFULLY, Isiah will be using Marbs as an exp deal to procure Kobe next year (Nix...I know you SWEAT Steph, but possibly Lee, Mardy, Balkman & exp Marbles and a pick or so may get Mr. Bryant)

Poor choice of words on my part. I meant it from the standpoint of not getting Oden or Durant. Instead of getting that 10 yr franchise player, they had to go with a right now team and guys in their 30's. Their window is REALLY small. They can't afford many wasted seasons. Can you imagine the bashing Ainge will take if this doesn't work as well as they expect it to?

that's true - nothing is guaranteed. ainge is swinging for the fences but it would be hard to find any owner, gm, coach, players, media or fans that would find fault with what ainge just did. in fact, this may have bought ainge more time.

titles are not guaranteed but figure they're gonna win and win big for the next 2-3 years. by that time, those guys deals are starting to come up, they can divest and start rebuilding then.

Conspiracy alert!!!

Mchale and Danny are lovers. Why? Because they are gay celtics. Anyway, Danny is stark ravin mad cuz he has clearly had no plan and was going to rape Paul pierce till he was 35 surrounding him with guys like wally etc. He was clearly tanking last year. Actually he has been clearly tanking the whole time he has been GM. He said himself that Paul piece was a bum, yet never trades him cuz again is a crazy lunatic.

Mchale is a even bigger retard. Kg was rotting with no real support for his whole career. Sam and spree? Mchale had a decent foundation then tanks himself with tons of lottery talent aroung the hall of famer.

Hmmm, did mchale and Danny take the same "rape a superstar" course?

So after a night of booty love making, ainge comes up with the plan. Since ainge lost the lottery he couldn't trade pierce cuz he would get fired. So he trades for ray Allen. Mchale is clearly nece going to get fired, but ainge decides to give ALL of his young players except rondo for KG. Now mchale won't get fired cuz Minnesota clearly has a stacked all-star team worth of draft picks from the last few years.

How does Larry feel about this? Stay tuned cuz the next chapter in the conspiracy should be kickin in anyday now.

just curious, how long do you think this deal was in the works?

the celtics traded away wally z, a guy kg hates. this could've dated back to around the draft, maybe they just finalized everything now.

Seriously guys, I know everybody's loving Mardy these days, but (and I hope I'm wrong)
I could see him being this year's sophomore bust.

Easy - pull the ball from slow duo hands and run fastbreak
5 agains 3 always worked well.
Isiah will have his hands full with offensive/defensive substitutions. may be he will need dedicated coach for this.
Task of the season - how to make 2 identical players produce more that 1 times one player?
Is 1.5 times a possibility?

Just put Balkman on Pierce like last year. Balkmania running wild.

Funny but Balkman wasn't on Pierce in any of that clip. He was a help defender.

With Pierce, Allen and perhaps KG, who do you help off of?

I know IT is thinking the same thing. We will have our pick next year and will have a bunch of young talent to send to L.A. Crawford or Marbury, Lee, Balkman, and 1st round pick and maybe 1 or 2 other players would be a pretty competitive offer for Kobe. You team Mardy, Kobe, Q, Randolph, and Curry and that is a pretty tough team. Might never happen, but I think we will be in the running for Kobe.
