Given the way this team has been built with two scorers in the front court, would you rather have the 20/8 Marbury as the point guard of your team or a steady, lower producing point guard of the past such as Derek Harper or Charlie Ward?

Harper
94-95 11.4pts 5.7ass
95-96 14.0pts 4.3ass 1.6stls

He played great d and hit big shots, and didn't need to self promote himself, and although ward was tough to watch he was another good defender. I would take that combination in a hearbeat

Are you choosing them even tho I put Marbury first?

I agree with your assessment. Especially since this team doesn't need scoring from the PG position at this point. We need a PG that can set up our bigs, and also distribute to JC or Q for long range shots. Defense is also essential. We can't let middle to low tier opposing PG's torch us on the other end.

Harper without a doubt. Harper could pass, shoot the 3, and play defense. He also did not have a problem feeding the post. Let me add that Harper would be getting paid like 1.5 mil compared to 21 mil from Marbury.

Harper or Ward easily. Harper and Ward played a team game, Marbury, however, is both, literally and figuratively, on drugs.

For this team i'd rather have Harper. I think Steph would do well in the right type of situation tho. He'd do well with a team much like we had when he 1st got here. H2O, KVH, KT & Doleac. That actually fits his style of play.

The poll is obviously biased by the order you have them listed.

I think to get people to stop claiming that every poll is biased, there should only be one choice which contains all the options. Then everyone will agree.

"Warp" over Starbury anyday.

If we are being revisionist, then the winning % and playoff success is by far a better testamony to them.

Marbury is a far superior talent and has better stats, but a team/pass first point vs a shoot first stat whore is better for winning.

Oh man, I'll take Derek Harper 365days of the year over Marbury.

i want Crawford & Mardy playing the point because both know how to feed the post... if we're going to run a pick & roll offense then Marbury is the guy i want.

Harper-Mark Jackson
Houston-Starks
LJ-Sprewell
Oakley-Lee
Ewing-Camby

I'll go with that 10 man rotation

Shouldn't the choice be Marbury v Ward/Chris Childs. Wasn't Marbury's comment about the Knicks guards refering to Ward/Childs?

Interesting new twist to the poll. That wasn't what I was trying to get at, but interesting...
I thought of Childs, but I don't think I would want him either. Too many turnovers.

man, i miss Childs like crazy... he was 1 of the best on ball defenders we ever had... & that 1-2 combo on Kobe is a classic Knick moment.

Yeah that combo was good one. I know I see that as an avatar every once in a while. What I remember about that is after the fight Shaq just said something about Kobe being a young guy and that he has got to learn.

In a related poll,

Would you prefer:

A) Winning

B) Losing
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Werd. Maybe a dunce, but he still didn't say half the stupid sh!t Marbury does. At least he knew to keep humble and his mouth (nearly) shut.
