Who do you think is going to be this year' surprise playoff team or just team thats vastly improved?

I'm going with the Bobcats. They have talent at pretty much every position.

Raymond Felton (one of the better emerging point guards)

Jason Richardson He can score inside outside and is a big strong two guard. Definetly feels a void that the Bobcats desperately needed.

Gerald Wallace Well we all saw how this guy totally annilhated us last season. Even if his shooting is still suspect his defense and athletic ability brings a lot to the table.

Walter Hermann We heard very little from this guy in the beginning of last season but came onto the scene late. He has a very solid offensive game a little soft defensively but still learning the NBA game.

Emeka Okafor I've loved this guy since college. Right now he's one of the better defenders and rebounders in the league. If he continues to get more comfortable with his low post foot work on offense this guy would be mentioned more often in the conversation for the best low post players.

The Bobcats Bench

Sean May, Adam Morrison (even if the guy is just a role player who can hit a few open shots), Jeff McNinnis, Matt Carroll, and Jared Dudley (who I thought was a good pick for them) especially if Morrison is never able to adjust to the NBA level.

My other possible candidate is Philly (they've just been quietly building their team not spending crazy money and the team showed that there developing some chemistry).

I think you're right on with those picks - who do you think is going to fall out of it?

Wizards and Miami? NJ?
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

in the East, i tend to agree w/ur pick of the Bobcats... J Rich will really add the scoring presence they need to take it to the next level.

in the West, i say POR will surprise some people & show that you CAN win & rebuild at the same time.

I bet you we lose 3 out of 4 to the bobcats, we had our hands full last year and with richardson the makes them unguardable for the knicks. We always get lit up against quick teams and their 1-3 is going to give us way to many problems, and its not like our bigs are going to keep them away from the rim......

NJ has not shot at not making the playoffs with jason kidd there, he pretty much could get any team there, including last years knicks.

Knicks need to get rid of some backcourt people before they think about the playoffs

Phili sucks.. looks like a 25 win team to me.

I think Boston suprises people. I think the young guys will work hard and are good enough for Doc Rivers to get a lot more out of this year. I think some of the older guys will be healthy and Ray Allen is a total pro and team player they will suprise people.

Wizards and Miami? NJ?

Wizards I think for the most part will remain the same. Their core is remaining the same and there relatively young guys. Of course the injury bug can hit at anytime.

If Miami and NJ don't make any significant moves this season they could fall out of favor.

Kidd > Marbury
Carter>Crawford
Jefferson>Q
Kristic>Zach
Magloire<Curry

Curry has trouble with guys that are physical and with jamal and collins i bet they give him some problems, and when was the last time we actually beat the nets, we couldn't beat them last year with the moore collins frontcourt with jefferson absent.....

I see shaq coming inshape and miami could limp to 42 victories, they are getting very old though.

You also have to worry about the bucks and the hawks teams that will give the knicks some problems, but most likely will miss out on the playoffs. Desmond Mason is a nicepickup for them.

Philly looked like a ****ty team last year and they finished ahead of the knicks and were .500 without iverson, boston didn't make the playoffs and i am guess they will this year they have a lot of underated talent on their team.....

The knicks are in for a fight to get into the playoffs but i think they can do some damage when they get there

You lost me when you rate Kristic over Zach. NO WAY . Zach is a beast. You will see.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

I don't have a sleeper per se- but I can see Doc getting canned this year if they're not putting up wins.

Philadelphia came on strong towards the end of the year-

MS,

Please don't misunderstand me I think NJ will still give us problems. Carter and Kidd alone destroy us.

Philly I think alot of people dismiss them especially since like I said they haven't made any major off season moves but if they can get everyone back healthy and build of their chemistry from last season I think they can surprise a lot teams.

Of course I think the Knicks have trouble with any team that has a strong point guard.

Boston they should absolutely make the playoff this year but Ray Allen misses games for chipped finger nails so injury is always a big part of the equation. Seriously with Jefferson's development and if Pierce remains healthy that alone I think will make Boston at least a playoff contender.

30-27 after AI trade.
Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala had the sixers playing great with their leadership.

They added Thaddus Young, Joe Smith, Hibert Hill, and Derrick Byars in the draft

They have solid second year players Louis Williams, Louis Amundson, Rodney Carney, and Bobby Jones coming back.

They have a good chance to make the playoffs

There's no way in hell Kristic > Zach. You're comparing 15 and 8 to 23 and 10.

I still think the Sixers are too inexperienced to make it to the playoffs with all of the other upgrades being made in the East. Where do you see the Knicks falling into the picture?
