I think Robinson's summer League has helped us use him in a trade for Artest. He will be a key part of a Deal cause they probally will trade Bibby to the Cavs.

Not a bad idea, we'd have to add another player to make the salaries even up though, but not a bad idea.

I like Rob but somebody got to go. We have Marty so we dont need him. I have changed my mind like 5 times about bringing in Artest. I think he would make us Championship type team but I like Balkman alot too. He is only missing the O game. Balk might be more of what we need, someone who can play without the ball but we also need somebody who will punish other teams for doubling Zack and Eddy. I'm torn!!! LOL

No way do I send a promising young two way player for Artest. Lee and Jefferies for Artest. I rather hold on to Chandler and get rid of a contract. Lee stood out when rebounding was an issue on this team, I am not sure if that is the case anymore.

To be honest probally not but I think we could do without Rob and his trade value is higher right now. BTW I forgot about Dickau. So we have 4 point guards.

Yeah, i see what you're saying. But I feel like Steph may be on his last legs. If NR is the best we got, we can't trade him away.

Nate is more talented & physically gifted, but I'd much rather hold onto Mardy because of the fact that he plays good defense & more versatile on both ends of the floor. if you have a shot at Artest by trading Nate & the expirings, it's a no brainer for me.

I think both Nate and Mardy are good - but they're just so different. Ironically, they're ideal backcourt mates. You've got little Nate w/ the combo-guard mentality, and you've got the oversized Mardy with the PG mentality.

Mardy's very useful on the Knicks because his height/skills make him a good passer to the post. Nate's useful because he can get to the free throw line and score points quickly against some teams. He's a nice change of pace threat and works very well w/ Balkman's helter skelter style.

Right now, the team's extra players really seem to be some combination of Q-Rich and Jared Jeffries. We're not sure where those two guys should play, esp after seeing Balkman, Chandler, and Nichols perform like veterans in the summer league.

If you can package Robinson and either Jeffries or Q-Rich to get Artest, sure. Seems like Balkman is a player we'd like to keep. Maybe the Kings will be interested in Chandler.

That actually would not be a bad trade but we would have a bunch of swing players. If we could convince Sactown to do Jeffries and Nate and maybe cash for Artest, I would probably jump on that.

It'll be Robinson, Dickau and Jones for Artest. Wait till September.

we might have to add Chandler to get that deal done, unless Isiah has faith in him to develop his perimeter jumper & deals Nichols instead... he doesn't have a guaranteed deal, so it might work easier to fit under the cap, no?

The expirings should be enough if Artest is still out there in September. That means that they couldn't get much for him...

i agree, it's a good idea to wait & see how it develops... but if the price is Nate, the expirings & either Nichols or Chandler, would u do it?

my god Mardy Collins? His upside is a less athletic Eric Snow. Please people. Dude will be fighting for a guarenteed contract in a couple of years.

If Sac wants any combo of Nate, Mardy, Chandler, Nichols, our two expirings in Jones and Dickau and some cash, then they have a deal.

Hell... I would offer all six for Artest. This team is going nowhere without Artest anyway, so who cares if he blows up. If he behaives (even a little) we become contenders in the east.

Artest is 27 years old and one of the best players in the NBA. The only reason he's got a shot of coming here is he's coocoo for coco puffs

It's hard to say no to that on principal. But I think we need to drive a hard bargain here. I don't think Sac wants him anymore and his value is way down around the league is way down b/c he's a freaking nut. If they also are moving Bibby, they could get themselves close to under the cap.

not to mention whoever gets him already won't have him for the first 7 games of the season because of that suspension... i agree, Isiah needs to drive a hard bargain if he can, but a package like that seems more than reasonable to me considering how good of a player Artest is... i'd probably make the deal & include Chandler along w/Nate & the expirings if SAC would be down for it... i like Nichol's perimeter shooting ability, & that if we're trading Nate, Nichols is our only real perimeter shooter other than Jamal coming off the bench.
