We don't acquire Artest. There is not another major salary added.

Zach & Curry co-exist reasonably well. They avg. 36 pts & 17 boards between them. Zach also avoids any type of arrest for the next 12 mos.

Q plays 60+ games & back holds up to the degree that we're optimistic re: 08-09.

Lee is in the hunt for 6th man of the year with 9 pts / 10 reb.

Balkman develops into a lock down defender & plays > 25 minutes a game showing glimpses of Shawn Marion type potential.

Collins turns into an African-American Steve Blake.

Knicks go 42-40 & win a playoff series.

I bet if you start Lee and Zach you'll get close to the 36 pts but also get 23 rbs. I realize Isiah would never do it because he has to justify all the lottery picks he gave up for Eddy, though.

That would probably be the best rebounding front court in the league. They'd struggle on defense but that's inevitable on this roster no matter which three you select for the front court.

this has to be a playoff team or things are going to get ugly at the Garden

When did 6-8 Zach Randolph become a center? He gets his shot blocked by many pfs and now we have him playing 35mpg at center?

Exactly! And Lee doesn't do offense or defense good enough to start at C.

Don't give this BS about Zach's height (which you got wrong anyway). Curry plays center and he plays defense like he's 4'2"

I'd sign up for that, but we all know that's not happening.

Why does every thread have to turn into the Jerry springer show?

Zach, Q, curry, lee, and balkman is an awesome front court. Add Morris, Chandler and Jared and the knicks have enough depth to withstand guys going down for extended periods.

The key is for the core to be healthy come the playoff push in late may and April.

Knicks have a lot of bad luck so I'm hoping for the best instead of rambling about non-sense.

Bottomline for me. Playoffs or bust. This is Year 4 and this team has a ton of talent and no lingering bad taste from the prior season. Everyone needs to come in lean and hunger and make this thing happen. I don't care about improvement in Atlanta, Boston, CHarlotte, or where ever. The Knicks need to run over whoever and bust their way into the playoffs. IT make it happen.

Personally- I'd like to see this team win about 20 games, land in the lottery with a chance to land a number one pick.

That does 2 things- gets us a chance to get a championship caliber talent and it gets isiah fired.

What are you talking about? Are you trying to pick a fight or just being retarded? Are you smoking something thinking 7 extra rebounds is going to win us a lot more games. Lee or Zach don't play defense either so gimme a ****in break with your BS. How exactly is your bull**** lineup going to help? Lee does not play defense and he definitely cannot make up for it on offense. He is he perfect 6th man until he develops a jumpshot. And about Zach's height, you should know they don't list it accurately. Zach is shorter than 6'9 as listed on NBA.com so backoff with the technicalities.

In this scenario, basically everything goes right but they still only win 42 games?

Then you have them probably knocking off the #1 or 2 seed in the east.

You're not exactly presenting a scenario that a majority of people wouldn't take. The only thing that would give someone pause is winning "only" 42 games.

in the play offs- the game gets called differently- more defense, more grabbing.

Having Curry & Zach as a potential double whammy down low could give opposing teams problems.

GS & Cleveland to some extent proved- just get in & you can win/ get lucky & advance

Our problems will come on the defensive end. To start games, teams that have quick lineups will be a challenge. This is why it's important for Curry and Zach to come in, in great shape. They're gonna be weak links if they're not ready. We'll be alright with our bench players who are quicker and more athletic, but it's gonna be interesting to see how the team plays D when the starting unit is on the floor. It looks like we'll continue to have a defensive unit come in off the bench to change the pace.

Defense and matchups may be a reason why Jared may start next year. When we play teams like Toronto, we're gonna need someone who can matchup with Bosh. I doubt he's gonna want to see Zach try to stay with Bosh. Q would be too small. So he may go with this lineup. Steph, Q, Jared, Zach & Curry. Then bring Jamal, Mardy, Lee, Balkman off the bench.

Even with a period of adjustment i think this team will still manage to win games. We just have too much depth and strength for teams in the East. When exactly is the let down gonna come for teams against us. Before you could count on the time when Steph, Q & Curry sat down. Now there really won't be a down time IMO. We'll keep Zach in there and bring in Lee and Balkman. Mardy will be able to come in and give us more size and defense. This team is gonna be better than a lot of you realize. I think to many of us and the Media are stuck with memories of this team from last year and they aren't recognizing the growth that will take place with another year together and an improved roster as well.

Even our bench is more equipped with guys that can fill needs. Nate, Nichols, Chandler, Morris, James & Malik or Jones & Dickau, depending on who Isiah keeps. This team is gonna win more than 42 games IMO.

Sounds like you think Zack will put up 27 ppg and 7 rpg. There's approximately 0% chance of that, since he's a better rebounder than that and NOT someone who can put up *that* many points.

I'll jump at the opportunity to kinda agree with you...lord knows I wont get many opportunities.

If that many things go right, homeboy you've "gots" to shoot higher than 42 wins. Knicks should mop up.

The Knicks 06-07 was disastrous in the way it was bookended...bad start, bad finish. Knicks avoid that, they should be fine.
