If we're going to believe that we're not going to trade LEE for Artest, our next best young prospect is Renaldo. He would be the young talent in the deal to sell to Sacramento fans. If you were Isiah would you offer him up in a deal for Artest? Knowing if you get Artest, and you're already stuck with Qrich and you just drafted two SFs, you might be tempted to deal the Balkster since he would be behind Artest and Q in the lineup.

Question is, do you do it?

I don't. Artest is too volatile, and Balkman is still improving. Save Balkman.

And if we're not dealing Balkman for Artest, whats the point of getting Artest anyway. Screw Petrie and Screw Artest. I'll take my chances with the current lineup in regards to Renaldo Balkman. I hope Isiah sees it that way too.

Unless we're dealing Qrich for Artest which aint happening...we can't trade for Ron. I don't want to let Collins go for him either.

I'd offer Morris or Collins (not both) and the expiring contracts. If Petrie wants more than that, let him get it somwhere else.

Artest is crazy, he'll ruin the team.
Balkman ahs good attitude, we need low profile scrappy players like him to make the team gel.

In 2 years, the Knicks SF may be the strongest position. Why is Artest such a need right now. Balkman, Chandler and Nichols represent young and athletic SF. If Artest is needed let him opt out and come next year.

I wouldn't rush to give up Morris or Collins.

Yes to Mardy

"Last season made me believe I can play in this league," said Collins, who averaged 14.8 points and 5.8 assists as a starter.

Balkman is a very nice player, but Artest could turn this team into something special. Especially since this team is so terrible with perimeter defense. Balkman is a good defender but not in the same way as Artest. Artest is also a much better offensive player. Can't Artest also play shooting guard?

I like Balks but he is over rated by Knicks fans just like Frank Williams, Sweetney and Ariza were in their rookie years. Seems like draft choices get 1 year here too be over rated before people switch to bashing

See Nate Robinson................. I think Balkman can be a good player though.

I would trade Balkman(although I would prefer to move Chandler) because we are getting a SF and we would be left with one project small forward (Chandler/Balkman).

I think when you have a player that is so one-dimensional like Eddy curry you need to do desparate things in order to try to complement him(because it is so difficult to complement him in general)

Balkman had the early lead, now Artest supporters have made this even.

I voted for Artest.

Balkman adds quickness and above-the-rim type athleticism and finishing ability that Artest doesn't. Does that make him a better overall player? No.

Artest is a very, very complete player who can contribute on an elite level on both ends of the floors.

That said, Artest has shown that he gets frustrated when he isn't involved in the offense. On a team with 4 starters who'll demand the ball enough to score 15+ppg (Curry, Zach, Marbury, Crawford), Artest will likely get inconsistent scoring opportunities and be limited to being a 13-17ppg scorer.

It remains to be seen how the Knicks can function w/ Curry/Randolph even before adding another potent player to the mix.

At this point, after getting Zack, I think the Artest issue becomes more. While we'd be getting another nucklehead, you need a dominant defender to make up for Eddy and Zack's deficiencies. So, frankly, I'd take a shot on Artest, even though I worry about his personality issues.

I would rush to get rid of morris he is another soft big, give them nate, and chandler with jefferies or even crawford.

Much rather have balkman rolling around with artest at the two and having defenders and active energy guys, balkman has a ton of potential and when your scouting report says you lack the motor thats just not the player you want. Chandler = tim thomas. Have to keep collins even over crawford, the kid showed me a ton at the end of the season

It be nice if for once we allowed our players to develop before shipping them out.

Artest is special- too many ways- but I've never seen Artest grab a rebound in traffic and push it up court like Balkman has.

If Balkman could develop an outside shot- even if he's got to be set- then he is as valuable as artest would be.

Artest does play both sides well- but his mental problems put him squarely into the 'Flawed But Talented' category that TOO MANY of our players already are.

I glad you already know someone career before they play one day in the league. I guess if he isn't the guy you wanted he = Tim Thomas. Nice.

NBA Comparison: Joey Graham
Chandler has impressive physical tools, with a great combination of strength and athleticism ... He can leap out of the building and create some highlight reel dunks ... He's a very smooth athlete with a knack for finishing ... Chandler has displayed an improving jump shot and his ball handling skills are slowly developing. As primarily a power forward on DePaul, he has developed some post moves and become a very strong rebounder ... His rebounding ability will set him apart from many small forwards a la Shawn Marion ... He is also a solid shot blocker who seems to be at his best defensively in the paint ...

Weaknesses: Chandler is listed height of 6-8 is very questionable, as he appears closer to 6-6 or 6-7. His intensity at times seems questionable, as he doesn't really seem to have the hustle attitude. Like most tweeners, he is not ready to play on the perimeter full time and lacks the quickness to defend top caliber wing players. His jump shot is still in the works, though it has improved, he has not shown the type of range necessary for an NBA small forward ... His shot selection seems very questionable at times, as he is too willing to jack up contested jump shots.

You want to hang onto morris, thats fine, maybe he becomes something maybe he doesn't but if you can include him with chandler and few prospects while hanging onto collins, lee and balkman you need to do it right away
