He looks good here passing the ball. A lot better than Curry.

Zach averages 2 assists a game whoever said that has not really seen him play.

Passing is only as good as your teammates' ability to finish. If you have weak finishers you can be the best passer in the world and it is all for not.

After the trade was made people said Randolph can score and rebound but thats it. Also he would duplicate Curry. From what I've seen , Randolph can pass the ball, has a very good outside shot, excellent drives to the hoop and can definately compliment Curry. He can play outside and come inside. Whoever is comparing this to the Francis trade is F'in crazy. This guy is going into the prime of his career.

I think Zack is really going to help this team because he does have the ability to pass out of the double team. Hopefully, Curry can learn something from him, but at the very least, I think we have a better 4th quarter option to run our offense through.

I think some people didn't really know Zack's game, but others were more pointing to the fact that you have another player on the team that requires a lot of touches and shots, so it could cause an issue if players don't want to cut down on shots. Hopefully everyone will play team ball, but as has been seen in the past on many NBA teams, that doesn't always happen.

He's not a great passer but he's a much better passer and all around player than Eddy.

I think that sums it up. His passing probably won't be a strength or a weakness. Zach does have a well rounded game. I think that, while Zach and Curry aren't the ideal match, they can and will play well together - at least on offense.

Finally it seems like this trade is beginning to grow on people around here. I think as more of us get a closer look at just what Zach can do, that people will be less concerned and start to get into it.

When it comes to passing, there's been a willingness on Zach's part to learn that part of the game and even Curry towards the end of the season was getting better at being patient and also making quick passes when the double came right away. Usually guys feel better about giving it up when other guys actually complete the play. They learn how fun it can be to setup easy baskets. Being coddled bigs they probably never imagined that it was just as much fun to make the pass as score the basket.

Neither of these guys should have a problem playing with each other. Usually when 2 good players like each other and respect each others game, they tend to be more accomodating. I can see that happening here.

Zach shoots 80% from the free throw line. Very important at the end of a game.

Isiah knows he isn't going to win many games with Curry as the no. 1 option.

Curry is a good 3rd option however.

If were talking about trying to win a championship Curry must be moved for a shotblocking defensive anchor at center. If were talking about being good enough to make playoffs Randolph & Curry might do.

What I don't like about the trade is that I don't believe Isiah Thomas will do what he needs to do to maximize Randolph regardless of his talent. A lack of balance could bring down talented players and limit there ture impact.

A big thing is if Curry picks up 2 quick (offensive) fouls or is in foul trouble at any point in the game we'll still have someone to throw it in the post to and not become a perimeter team.
The ball should go inside on almost every possession and the only way we settle for jumpers is if its kicked out of the double team.
The bottom line is Curry needs to drastically pick up his game on the defensive end or we won't be championship contenders with Curry and Randolph and one of them will have to be moved at some point.

The other bogus argument against this trade is that Zach and Curry won't play well together. Not sure if that's true or not, but even it is somewhat true, not necessarily that big a deal. If they each play 35 mins a game and we have at least one of them on the court at all times, they'd only have to play together 22 mins a game.

96 total mins at 4 and 5. They're playing a total of 70. 96 minus minus 70 = 26 to be played by another 4/5. 48 less those 26 mins is 22 mins when they're on the court together.

We'd have to be a bit unconventional w/ substitutions to minimize their time on court together and still get them each their 35 mins ... maybe take curry out earlier in q1 than we did this year (could help minimize foul trouble) and put him back in when Zach gets his first breather ... maybe not start both of them for the 2nd half ... but if we're less effective when both are in and we want 1 of them in at all times, we could work it out.

Also, if we want to keep our rotation tight, this leaves Lee 26 mins at 4/5; assuming he could pick up a few minutes at 3 too, we could still get him 30 plus mins a game.

All of this assumes that Zach could play the 5 -- which IMO isn't a problem against most teams -- especially as he'd be on the court w/ Lee when he'd be playing 5 so we'd have strong rebounding team in.

I think we're too worried about the D. Really we lost more games due to high TO's and Poor starts. We played catch up in almost every game we played. We also didn't have much balance on offense and that made it easier to go thru major droughts scoring wise. Curry will get better and I think we already saw him starting to evolve last year.

As for Curry being a 3rd option, that's crazy. The guy only got 12 shots a game and still avg'd 20 a game. He's near 60% and just imagine he did all that with people all over him. He's a top option. Perhaps 1A, but not 3rd. You run the offense thru him and Zach and you keep working on their ability to read the D and make the Pass. You drill it over and over until they have it ingrained and it's nearly 2nd nature. With more practice it's really not that hard. This was the 1st time he really focused on doing it and you could see that he was getting a little better.

On Curry and Zach's D. Let's remember that we gave up something like 24 pts or more from the 3pt line every night. Perimeter D is a bigger problem than the Interior D. Sill I expect improvement from Curry in that area. He must make more of an effort to deter shots. He may not block them, but at least make people alter their shots inside. The same goes for Zach. Just get the hand up and make the shot tougher.

Can we please wait until this season comes before we start with the trade Curry talk. How about we give him the benefit that he has improved his game and will come into camp in shape and ready to ball. IT put his butt on the line for Curry, now many of you think he is going to all of a sudden just trade him, especially after a season where he made great progress. Stop smoking. IT already said he is not trading Curry, so stop with the scenarios that include him, just not realistic IMO.
