I'm going to be on a plane during the draft so let me get this out of the way now.

"LMAO Isiah is such an arrogant prick!! I can't believe he passed on (insert names) to reach for (insert name)! The guy isn't even better than (insert overrated and overpaid Knick who plays the same position) and will never see any minutes. Even in a draft where the Knicks have the smallest role possible, they still come out of it a complete laughingstock.

(Insert name) Un-freaking-believable."

Unless he picks Morris Almond, in which case my response would be:

"Decent pick, it's not the worst thing Isiah's ever done. Although that's not saying a whole lot."

Enjoy the draft, it should be a crazy night.

That's pretty funny.

I think the ultimate would be is if Isiah manages to trade up for a higher pick, only to draft another second rounder with his first round pick.

If that happens, I get dibs on having called it.

Something like this: There's been a trade. The Knicks have traded David Lee for the 9th overall pick. Knicks fans gasping, but hopeful.

The Knicks are on the board...

And with the 9th overall pick, the Knicks select one of: Avis Wyatt, Sean Williams, Wilson Chandler.

"WTF!???!?!?! GO TO HELL ISIAH!!!!"

I think one of the sportswriters said it best....something like Isiah does not draft complete busts.

I'm starting to disagree. With the Knicks he got:

Trevor Ariza - for 42nd(?) pick thats fine.
Channing - Sophomore BUST. When we were in the best position to get a good player, Isiah didn't get it right.
Nate - main function is to just energize the crowd and shoot a wild shot over AI in the last seconds. He doesn't fit, especially with crawford. Too much style, too little substance.
DLee - great pick
Balkman - coulda had him later..
Mardy - who knows? He played great in April but he was also playing the most minutes in the league which definitely padded his stats.

Does Isiah really draft well? Or does it just seem like that because

A. New York hasn't drafted well in 10+ years
B. He f!cks up everything else so his OKAY drafting stands out.
C. The players he drafts are athletic freaks who 1. are exciting to watch and 2. get plenty of playing time on a ****ty team. But the question remains, how many of these guys are actually helping us win?

To be fair you'd have to include his drafting as Toronto's GM.

Fine:

Camby: 1996 was the draft of all drafts. I could've drawn a name out of a hat and it would've been a great pick. You can even make an argument that Camby with the SECOND pick might have been too high.

Stoudamire 7th? C'mon.. Average pick at best.

TMAC is probably Isiah's best pick and he's been riding that wave for TEN YEARS.

For the 100th time, we don't know Balkman could've been had later. What we do know is that he was very productive & looks as promising as one could expect given where he was drafted. Excellent pick.

Sorry, there's two elements to drafting. One is getting maximum value out of your pick. With that one, Isiah failed. As for the other, let's give Balkman another year or two before we proclaim him the next Josh Howard. I like what I've seen so far, but remember what happened to Frye?

He won the Rookie of the Year and has stuck in the league as a starter on some pretty good teams.

You expect great picks all the time but go ask other teams. Look at SEATTLE drafting Swift, Petro, and Sene back to back to back.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I think Avis Wyatt is a darkhorse for IT. in terms of being picked.

Compare Camby year two to Camby now. Why is Frye a bust two years into his career, because it'sa good punch line??? SMH

His second year was a bust. Are you saying you think he'll turn it around? Sure, it's possible. He's going to have to change his mentality. This year he played like an utter pansy.

Balky is not starter material. He basically does what Reezy did. Either way we sucked so he got a chance.

Just the fact that MarDy is not MarTy gives me suspect.

Nay Nate (little Man) is a freak show.

And DLee is great pick! But question is on a decent team can he hold the position if a team is constructed properly.

This is a make or break for Channing no doubt. He can threaten to be a starter and make his mark or spiral into obscurity.

Isiah is a good draft guy but lets be real, as a coach he does not have any history of getting the most out of players for extended periods of time, and as a GM he is suspect.

He drated well in Toronto, but what did those teams do with him as their president? Or afterwards?

T-mac at the no. 7 was not that much of a stretch. But even his career has been uneven thus far.

After a 33 win season, he will get booed tonite.
