• The Knicks are trying to move up higher in the first round -- presumably to get their hands on Boston College's Sean Williams. According to sources they've spoken with the Warriors about a deal that would net them the No. 18 pick if they'd be willing to take back Adonal Foyle's ridiculous contract. The Knicks could put a package together that included Jared Jeffries and Mardy Collins

This is a bad deal if it includes Mardy. Jeffries/23 for Foyle/18 is probably not enough to get it done.

Don't like this deal. No need to include Mardy unless the Knicks are trying to retain thier own 23 pick. If the Nets don't scope Williams up at 17, theres a chance he will be there at 23 for us.

BTW, how long is Foyles contract?

Real GM says it has 3 years remaining. Jeffries has 4.

And lets not go crazy over Collins just yet. Remember when the entire world thought Frank Williams was the 2nd coming?

He has a team option 09/10 season so he would expire the same time as Marbury and Francis. I wouldn't imclude Mardy. Give them Nay Nate.

especially if we trade mardy, we *NEED* (!) a good PG prospect in the pipeline. if we're planning on phasing out steph and steve in the next 2 years, we absolutely must have a PG we've been grooming to step in. we can't draft one and expect him to lead us to the playoffs that year - especially if we reach because of need. i like mardy but am not sold on him being full-time starter material. and if we trade him for a big we're even more screwed.

that trade would make me sad.

i only do this if the Knicks get to keep their 23rd pick as well.
some Knick fans accept mediocrity as excellence .... I don't!

If the Knicks keep 23 (though when he says "move up" I think he's implying we'd be trading it), then they could get a solid PG prospect- Green, Pruitt, Kapponen, Sessions etc. at 23.

Maybe Nate will be included in a package along with Frye and others for Lewis.

a front line of:

Lewis
Sean Williams
and Eddy Curry isn't bad at all.

If we made that trade we would have a salary of 33 million come 2009/10

Collins is our most solid back court player- and that's a sad statement to make- no way should we trade him unless we're somehow getting a pg or sg that is an upgrade.

I would trade Frye to GSW.

As low as Frye's value may be, i'm sure we can get more than Foyle for him.

I think you can get more than just the 18 for Frye too. I would think GSW puts a big time value on Frye- he's such a perfect fit for that Don Nelson style.

How about Frye/23 for Biedrins/18?

Though it seems like GSW's main motivation is moving Foyle...

All reports I have heard are saying that Sean Williams will be picked at 17 by the Nets. We should be trying to trade with them.

They would never do that. Biedrins > Frye
