KVH and Doleac for Thomas and Nazr.
It's funny how this whole world is based on one dummy controlling another, and the leader dummy was chosen by a whole bunch of dummies.

Ewing and Dudley for Glen Rice, Luc Longley, Travis Knight, Vladimir Stepania, Lazaro Borrell and Vernon Maxwell.

Not from a talent standpoint, but the Rice and Knight contract's hamstrung the Knicks. Rice of course turned into Shanderson and Eisley. Shanderson had to be bought out- Eisley was one of the bad contracts consolidated into Marbury.

Draft picks for players always have the potential for turning into the worst...that's where the Polynice for Pipper and Kobe for Divac came in.

Lorenzen Wright, Samaki Walker, Todd Fuller, Kerry Kittles and Vitaly Potapenko all picked before Kobe? Yikes!

Agreed.

Also, 7 players for Marbury and Penny was pretty bad and has hurt the franchise for years, while it gave Phoenix the cap room to get Steve Nash and become one of the best teams in the league. Has been disasterous for this franchise. Just about every other Isiah Thomas trade also qualifies.

Camby, Nene and Mark Jackson for McDyess, Lampe and Frank Williams wound up being pretty bad also, but only because of the injuries.

The other ones mentioned in this thread also apply.

Um... wasn't that first round draft selection a player named SHAWN MARION? How was that a bad trade?

KVH for Nazr was not even a bad trade let alone a terrible one. Get a grip.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

If that was all there was to the trade, you might be right. We also got Terrible Tim, who was a completely negative impact to the team, and set us back. Additionally, we gave up Michael Doleac, who was playing VERY well, and was really fitting well into the system.

I think that was a neutral or slightly negative trade. Really, Nazr is the only one of the four players who had any good NBA seasons after the trade (and he had only one good season).

So you think bringing in a headcase like Tim Thomas wasn't a huge setback? The team clearly got considerably worse and there was a massive aura of negativity after the trade, so how can it be neutral?

TT was a wuss but he wasn't a cancer. A cancer is someone who negatively impacts other players on the team. I know you like Van Horn a lot but he didn't play any better than TT post-trade either. I think Nazr was the best of the four players involved in the trade.

Um, are you serious? Just his mere presence on a team lowers that team's value. Wow, he played well in the playoffs, in a contract year, let's get a grip. He's once again a cancer and destroyed the Clippers team this year. His "addition" turned them from a game away from the WCF to a team that doesn't make the playoffs. He had a similar impact on the Knicks. He plays like a lazy dog most nights and that DOES impact his teammates. Negatively. He's also a moron. One of the Nets fans I occasionally talk to, went to college with him and said he's one of the dumbest guys he's ever met. We would've been better with Jessica Alba playing SF.

Also, this has nothing to do with Van Horn. Nazr is fine and I'm not knocking Nazr. Frankly, part of me might prefer him over Curry. Nazr certainly wasn't the best player in that trade, but that's an old argument and one I don't care about. Let's just move past that.
