Since I hate most of the music that comes out now, I have been digging for the old school stuff.

I have been wanting to rock out more in recent months more than I can remember.

Anyway, that's where this thread is coming from.

I want you bastards to post who your favorite rock bands of all time are, out them in order and if you don't mind, give the names of the best albums they ever put out.

I will start it.

Guns and roses!!! 1987, album titled, "appetite for destruction". All 12 tracks are just pure electricity. Axel rose had the craziest voice. The guitars are just singing. The lyrics are just 80s badass. I freakin love that album.

I just got nirvana's "nevermind". I don't like it. Whoa!!! Some people look to nirvana like they are gods. I simply do not like it. Its like pop rock in my humble opinion.

I've been wondering what is permissible WRT music here. I was wondering if anyone would want to do a music exchange. Those interested could put together an mp3 mix and host it on rapidshare for download.

Anyone interested? Would that violate any board rules?

Eny, you like Jimi Hendrix? Electric LadyLand and Axis Bold As Love are a couple of my favorites.

"Rock Band" is a broad term
I'll say Radiohead, Neil Young and toss in Tragically Hip (best Canadian band ever) to be original
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

No particular order...

Band -- Album(s)

Led Zeppelin -- Physical Graffiti / Led Zeppelin IV
Tool -- Aenima
Guns and Roses -- Appetite for Destruction
Pantera -- Vulgar Display of Power
Black Sabbath -- Paranoid

Also awesome bands:

Bad Brains -- Pioneers of punk-hardcore.
The Mars Volta -- Pretty tripped out experimental rock, with a touch of latin flavor. One of the only dope contemporary bands.
Wolfmother -- Dope riffs. New band - old classic sound.
Fishbone -- Pretty diverse musically and pretty awesome.
Candiria -- Jazz meets metal. Just one of my personal faves. Not for everyone.

Always must mention:

MY BAND: Do You See the Dark (myspace.com/doyouseethedark -- the songs are on there, you don't have to sign up to listen.) Come see us live one of these days. We rock.

Yeah baby! That's what I'm talking about.

What do you guys think of motorhead? Did doing that song on the sponge bob movie album kill it for them? The song "ace of spades" is pure adreniline.

Did anyone even mention metalica or are they more of a metal band? "fuel" also is pure adrenaline.

Some good stuff in this thread. Guns N' Roses is and always will be my favorite band of all-time, so aside from Appetite, I'd recommend Use Your Illusion 1 and 2.

Some other albums I recommend that I haven't seen on here.

The Clash - London Calling
Alice In Chains - Dirt
Radiohead - The Bends
Oasis - What's the Story Morning Glory
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Stone Temple Pilots - Core
