Coca-Cola just baught Vitamin Water for 4.1 BILLION.. and 50 Cent was a 10% owner of that company.. so he just made 400 million dollars.. catepolting him into the top of his class, past Jay-Z and Sean P Diddy Combs.

Could 50 Cent buy the Knicks with around 500+ Million

According to Forbes the Knicks are currently valued at $592 mil.

50 come run our team!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New York Rapper 50 CENT is drinking Vitamin Water Straight to the Bank. Glaceau, the makers of the popular brand was acquired by the Coca-Cola Company (May 25) for $4.1 billion dollars. The multi-millionaire who is planning for the September 4th release of his curtis album owns a 10% share of the Glaceau company which he invested in 2004, earning him $400 million dollars. The company markets and distributes a grape flavored energy drink inspired by 50 named Formula 50. “This is an outstanding opportunity for both of our companies to build an expanded active lifestyle business, first in the United States and then around the world,” says Muhtar Kent, President of the Coca Cola Company.

Why would we want 50 Cent to own the Knicks, exactly?

I think many NYK fans are in "Anyone but Dolan" mode at this point.

purchaser of the knicks must not only buy the knicks, but the rangers, liberty AND madison square garden (the physical building).

approximate worth is more towards $1+ billion.

you couldn't do much worse, although if anyone were to buy the knicks I'd want someone who at least has had some experience running a sports franchise or some kind of business of that magnitude that operates similarly.

Sure, I understand that, but for the sake of the team on a hypothetical basis I'd want it to be owned by someone who truly cares about the team winning and not just another commodity to add to their portfolio. Anyone other than Dolan, IMHO, is not a good reason to support someone as owner.

The Knicks aren't for sale. Unless you're buying Cablevision too.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

He is a pretty intelligent guy, i think more so than dolan, the guy has a lot of ventures and increased from nothing into close to 600 million and its only growing......

Dolan is a dumb dude, he has been fleeced his entire tenure hear, hired the wrong people, tolerated failure, treats people like garbage and doesn't have any idea what this team or city needs.....

If they sad NBA is getting "black" this is the list of possible owners for MSG :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_billionaires

Oprah can get MSG (but will need to spend all assets) and nobody can buy Cablevision...

But if NBA will turn "white" or "yellow" there are another 940 people to bid for MSG

I see some Russian moguls to go for it... They like sports.

If Cablevision was still public then it could have been done by a hostile takeover (trying to by over 50% of the shares...Warren Buffet style) which would be about half a billion dollars. Now that it's private, I guess we can forget about someone like Magic owning the Knicks, who I would be VERY much in support of.

It could be a group, which is the way the Nets were bought, which would be a cool way to get some people who know the game in charge...this is all unlikely though, and wishful thinking on our part.

+ radio city. I read somewhere last year (during the whole Jets stadium thing) that the package was worth about $2 billion.

Add the beacon theater also. Msg had the first boxing match there, the last Duddy fight. That's crazy.

Dolan might be dumb but he sure knows how to keep people off his lawn.

Since vitamin water carries 50 cent's imprimatuer, and it costs a whole lot less than Cristal champagne, can we consider him a greater philanthropist than Steph?

Air Jordans $180 - Starbury's $15 = Savings $165

Cristal $300 - Vitamin Water $3 = Savings $297

$297 > $165

50 Cent > Marbury ?

(I know I'll get slapped for this...)

really, You can't be serious. 50 cents owing the knicks. LOL.. I don't like what that guy is all about. Call dolan dumb, that is fine, but 50 is an idiot. Stern and the other owners are not that stupid, they would veto that sale in a second, as they should....
