The next thing you know, we'll all be worried that the Bulls pick the next Boozer or Arenas with our 2nd round pick in next year's draft.

we owe them a 2009 2nd round pick.

they traded the 2007 2nd round pick to move up in the 2006 draft from #16 to #13 to take thabo sefolosha.

sidenote, we also owe a heavily protected 2008/2009 #1 pick, but totally unprotected in 2010 in the marbury deal.

I doubt that this team will be in the lottery in 2010. I know some felt that way this year too, but I really think that it's not gonna happen again. I'm just glad that the specter of Oden and Durant is off of our heads.

What exactly is there to feel better about if you're a Knicks fan?

That the Bulls are ONLY picking 9th in the Lottery, thanks to Isiah being asleep at the wheel?

What did the Knicks gain that you think people should feel better about?

It's a matter of gaining relief, not being exstatic about the situation. Plus you must remember that we actually got something in that trade. Just because you don't like the deal, doesn't mean that it won't end up being a good move for this franchise. We got a Center that we couldn't have gotten otherwise, so to me it was a good move. Did it have the "potential" to turn out bad. YEAH! But it didn't and now we can move on and look toward improving the team with Curry as a building block.

It didn't? Based on what? They already missed out on Brandon Roy and we still have to see who they could have had with the #9 pick.

All for a center with serious flaws, like a complete aversion to playing defense and rebound.

i just want to point out that we just drafted a center with the #8 pick 3 months before this trade.

Congrats. 33 wins, gave away another lottery pick, same team, same fraud of a GM and coach, same pathetic owner.

Go nuts.

But I'm powerless to change that, and I can't root for another team. So I have chosen to make the best of it, and hope that the young core improves and perhaps Isiah can luck into a good trade.

If, however, they ended up giving up the rights to Oden, or to a much lesser but still significant extent Durant, I would have stopped watching the NBA for the next 15 years, which could mean for the duration of my life.

i think the relief is that:

a. boston slipped out of the top 2
b. not only are Oden and Durant now more than likely not going to be in our division, but our conference also
c. i don't know I guess chicago not getting lucky and moving up is a nice bonus. everything after the first 2 is just gravy though

well, at least that's how i see it

I'll feel better when we are getting excited about good things happening for us instead of bad things happening to other teams.

You're powerless to change a lousy situation. So you feel good, just because it could have been even more lousy? I don't get it. We still have the same crappy team and nothing but a pick that's lower than 80% of the teams have to improve. I have no other team to root for, but that doesn't make me feel good ...it makes it even worse!

Bingo!

But the Celts falling is kinda funny at least. And Memphis tanked was not rewarded. After they secured the top odds, they went on a 4 game winning streak against playoff teams.

Ainge is a joke.

They are cursed since len Bias.

Or, the odds are just catching up with them. Under Auerbach they were brilliant for decades.

AGREED! I felt the same way Rich. I was shaking in my boots watching the dude hold up the cards. I would have had a heart attack if the Knicks got the #1 pick and they had to give it up to Chicago. So yea, to answer the thread, I feel so much better!

That said, Eddy has to elevate his game this season. He is the key to our success and even though I don't see him as a stereotypical franchise player, it is important he plays defense and rebounds a little better next season. But atleast we don't have to live with giving up Oden.

You post some really obtuse stuff.

It's merely a recognition of reality. The Knicks didn't lose out on a possible all-time great player. That's a positive development whether or not you care to acknowledge it.

As for the Knicks' roster, Curry, Lee, Balkman, Collins, and Q form a core that can be supplemented to build a playoff contender.

Do they have improve? Of course, but that's not particularly unlikely.

Steph was very good last season.

Craw, Frye, and Nate can possibly be assets that can be packaged for needs.

You're entitled to your opinion. I don't share it.
