And I thought that once the Knicks traded him, the old man would go away and never be heard from again.

He played some really hard-nosed defense against Duncan. Duncan didn't go beserk until Amare was defending him.

Can yall stop hating Kurt long enough to give him some credit?

Kurt was always a solid player
He was not a good feet into IT movement of "Young and Athletic Empty Heads"
And he always refused to be a clown and kiss anybodys (Steph) a...ss
He will be always with MY Knicks.

Agreed. He'd be our best defensive big man by a mile. Lee and Kurt in the front court would have actually been a decent combo.

I loved kT. the problem was, that with this knicks team, he was forced to play a bigger role than he should have as he got older. At his very best he still could not make the knicks a much better team. Kt, a younger KT would almost be an ideal fit next to curry.... Kurt did well...

Props to Kurt. FUnny thing he would have been a good fit next to CUrry. When we had him, our weakness made hima poor fit. But noe we could use some D at the 4 and the ability to hit some short jumpers. Back then we just didn't draw an fouls, but with Curry and our guards we have been getting penetration and drawing fouls.

I don't think anyone really hated on Kurt. He was a good player for the knicks.

I wish channing had Kurts game. He would be a beast cuz of the extra height, length, and youth.

That's not true. Lots of people had getting rid of KT as a top priority b4 it happened. I remember that clearly.

Agreed. At the end when we still had Kurt before he was traded, anyone giving him and support on this forum was ripped into.

I wasn't on this board at the time, but I got killed on realgm for liking Kurt. I was told daily that if we'd simply cut KT we'd have a great team.

"Kurt takes too many shots, he's a scrub and has no right to stand up to Steph, we need someone who can dunk, all those shots he takes should go to Steph, he steals rebounds from his teammates, he can't defend anyone more athletic than him which means everyone, etc"

Kurt was Marbury's Kryptonite, the sad thing is Marbury was never Superman thus he still had to go because of this dynamic. Good for him he was assisted in getting the Heck out of Dodge. It would be nice if he could get a ring.

The main complaint about Kurt Thomas was he refused to play inside his last few years with the Knicks. Zero dunks, zero post ups, zero easy points. He became a pure jump shooter, ala Channing Frye, except better because he with some accuracy and he tried hard on defense.

But quite frankly, he'd be a nice fit on these Knicks, playing next to Curry and Lee. But, as usual, you'd have to get rid of Marbury, because Kurt makes up part of the 1/3 of the league that Marbury can't get along with.

If this team started Kurt over Eddy Curry and ran some pick and roles for the guy we would have won more games by a landslide.

Realistically if you give thomas the same number of touches and you play him 34 minutes a night your probaly looking at this comparison....

Eddy 20pts 7rbs 1ass 0blks
Kurt 15pts 10rbs 2ass 1blks 1stl plus a lot more defense...........

Kurt always kept us in the middle of the road, you can't but a price on defense......

Well now that we are talking about defense I remember bring on the side to trade him. Not cuz he was terrible but because the knicks just needed that athleticism. Besides KT is great against post up guys, even shaq if you remember, but he would get destroyed by anyone that could move a little especially Antoine walker, lol.

Right. That was the reason we wanted him traded. Why keep a guy over 30 when you're a 33 win team, as we were at the time we traded him. That would've been a killer trade for Isiah if Q was healthy and he had actually picked someone with NBA talent and maturity, instead of Natebury Robinsux. Too bad Isiah didn't do his research before that one.

Kurt and Nash doing the pick and roll reminded me of when Step and Kurt had it going in New York.

JUst wanted to show some love for Dirty Kurty.

I was thinking about that too and agree. I don't know about it being by a landslide but I do think it would have been more wins.
