You know, with Jalen on the bench as well as some other vets- they should have stopped those two. I remember when the brawl happened this year with Mayhem Mardy and JR "Rider" Smith and the other participants, Herb held Jamal and Steph back. Granted, Herb was very well aware of what happened with the Knicks vs Heat, but someone should have stopped those dudes.

The bad part is that these suspensions severly alter the competitive balance of the series.

Ridiculous. The league is trying to hand the series to the Spurs. BS.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Once again the NBA capriciously hands out punishment, while rewarding the aggressors. It's a complete joke.

I hope the Suns have Jalen Rose punch a Spurs scrub in the face, right in front of the Spurs bench, after they pull their starters.

The NBA is the only league where an altercation will be reviewed and the team who took the cheap shot can come out ahead, even though the other team did nothing to provoke or escalate the altercation.

I'm sick of the NBA offices deciding playoff series.

I agree, it is a joke, this is such a good series and to be tainted this way just goes to show the NBA doesn't have a clue...

TNT just showed the clip of Duncan coming 6 feet out onto the court from the bench, earlier in the series. Of course he wasn't suspended because there's no consistency in disciplining players.

The Suns are getting screwed just like we got screwed in 97.

The league won't be as good as it can be until Stern does what about 90% of it's fan base want him to do and that's Get Lost. He's the worst Commissioner in sports, even as bad as Selig has been. He's a tyrannical, manipulative, weasel and I'm tired of him getting all this credit for taking the game global as if that wouldn't be the goal for any Commish in charge.

The Suns are getting screwed just like we got screwed in 97.

At least they're not having so many suspensions to their top players that half of them are held out in each of the final two games of the series. You know, something like Stoudemire and Marion in game 6 and Nash and Barbosa in game 7.

Sucks for the Suns, but honestly I'm still just as bitter about 97 as Islesfan so it's hard for me to get too outraged about this. Cry me a river, we got screwed over way worse and no one cared about it except Knicks fans.

I think he's a total Hypocrite Dope. He eliminated the 5gm series in the first round and expanded it to 7gms. He changed the playoff format this post season to make it more difficult for powerhouses to meet too early. He's gimmicked up drafts. All because he wants to have the greatest possibility of seeing the best teams compete. But then inserts some handcuffing rule as this, knowing it's natural instinct to protect those of your own and hands out the stiffest of penalties if violated. Taking away the greatest chance to see the best teams compete.

How is this a problem? Sure it sucks, but the rules are the rules. They've been enforced pretty consistently throughout the years. Leave the bench during a scuffle, get suspended.

There's no problem with how they're enforced. There may be a problem with the rule itself (which I think there is) so change that.

You mean consistently, the way Duncan was suspended for coming 6 feet onto the court after one of his teammates was lowbridged after a dunk?

Oh wait, he wasn't suspended. Nevermind.

Give me a break. From the tape I saw (feel free to show me one that proves otherwise) that was no altercation. World of a difference between the two.

He is, and I understand the rule, I mean rudy Tomjanovic almost got killed by kermit washington and rudy was running to be a peace maker. You can't really judge guys intentions in situations like that, but there has to be some sort of way to sit down, watch the film and make a decision with certain exceptions. No punches were thrown, no one was hurt, I mean what is the upside of sitting two of the suns better players in a highly contested series?

this has 1997 written all over it..
