I'm surprised no one is really talking about this series. I am solidly in the Detroit camp. Not just because I hate the Bulls, but because I don't think the Bulls are as good as people think they are. They have a VERY good coach and as a team they have a LOT of good shooting. They have smart players as well. I just don't feel like they're a team that can win a Title.

They don't really have any advantages on the court. It's all about solid D, good movement, passing and making shots. Solid fundamentals. Which any team would want to imitate, but in terms of having players that put fear in the heart of opposing defenses, I don't really get any of that from them. They have a bunch of fundamentally sound players and they execute very well. Their lack of size at guard bothers me. Their lack of any kind of post up game also bothers me. They're tough, but not really physically imposing. They can take advantage of teams with weak D and slow perimeter defenders. The thing is that you find less of that in the playoffs and teams can really prepare for what you do. If you don't have a plan B or any real advantage on the floor it makes things difficult. Now I expect that the Bulls will regroup and play better, cuz that was just a bad game for them, but I still don't like their make up with PJ and Ben inside.

bulls are a good team and are on the right track.

billups + rip + prince > hinrich + gordon + deng but the real X-factors are sheed and dice.

they're just not ready to beat the pistons (the class of the east).

it took jordan 4 tries to get past the detroit. 0-3 and then they finally won.

it was a matter of the bulls losing to the pistons in the 2nd round, or in the ECF's (based on seedings). but there's still 6 more games left to play.

By the time they might be good enough mentally, Big Ben and PJ will be gone. They got rid of Tyson and Eddy, but they didn't really provide for their future as well as they might have thought. We'll see how they end up drafting and what they do in the FA market.

I agree that they have a nice little group with Hinrich, Gordon and Deng. Overall that team is full of fundamentally sound players and I envy that aspect of their team. Detroit is a much more physically imposing team tho. At every position they've got the Bulls trumped. It's not just about the Bulls developing, they're gonna need CHANGES to match up.

Bulls are a good team but Detroit is better. However, the bulls have the ability to get very hot from the perimeter and I wouldn't count them out of the series just yet. If the bulls make it or 6 or 7 games series I think that has to be considered a good showing.

The bulls as currently configured are not that good.

The bulls are a better team thanks to I. Thomas. I really enjoyed the Pistons smacking the bulls around. I'm hoping for a sweep! I love it, I love it, I love it!!!!!!
I'll never trust this' team again.

They didn't provide for the future?? Lotto picks from the Knicks and their own picks in the future, plus a manageable cap. Add to that a ton of young players with trade value that they can trade without hurting their core. They aren't a finished product yet but they have a lot of pieces in place with the ammunition to finish the job. That's not a guarantee that they ever will but you'd have to be completely blind to not see how close they are. And they're a better team without Curry.

The Knicks barely have any of that and are about 10 steps behind the Bulls but yet you're so optimistic about their future. You're so full of ****.

The Pistons are still at the top of the mountain while the Bulls are still climbing it. The Knicks on the other hand lost the map and can't find the mountain but hired a sherpa who flunked out of sherpa school.

This series is far from over.

You have to admit and I didn't really see this until you said it Isles. The Knicks got seriosly worse since we got the big cheeseburger and the bulls amazingly got better since they got rid of him. Paxon is a genius and Thomas was his biggest fool. Amazing!
I'll never trust this' team again.

Yeah, the Bulls could use a post presence, but they can use a center, who refuses to rebound or play defense and is a total sloth getting up and down the court, a hell of a lot less.

Look at how that team plays defense and gets after it hustling like crazy. Do you think Curry fits in with that? He'd do nothing but hold them back.

Thanks Isles. Exactly what I was going to say. What a joke! Tyrus Thomas last year and 9th pick this year, and they didn't think about the future? Ha ha ha!

is there really a rivalry between the knicks and bulls anymore?

in my case, all hate for the bulls left after jordan, pip and phil left. just like after reggie left indiana. right now, the bulls and indiana are just two other teams in the east.

Its a 3-way rivalry between Dolan, Marbs and Isiah to see who can screw the Knicks more.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

What's our recent record with them, something like 23-2? Can complete ownage really be considered a rivalry?

At this point we'd be better off considering ourselves rivals of any other team but them. Lets consider ourselves rivals of the Pistons and Spurs. Might as well since some here think we're better than the Mavs now.

I don't think you can have a rivalry unless the two teams are competitive with each other.

We won't have a real rivalry until we hate a team that can compete.

Freudian slip? That should be:

We won't have a real rivalry until we have a team that can compete.
