Trading for Artest would be as risky as was trading Starks for Sprewell back in the day when Spree was coming off his suspension and nobody in the Association wanted him. Isiah has coached Artest, they get along. Artest's defensive mentality would set the tone of this team, with Collins and Balkman having emerged as solid defenders. Artest is a top-10 player in the League in my opinion. Nobody plays with as much intensity as he does on both ends of the floor.

Frye and Robinson should both be attractive to the Kings since they need help up front and at point guard. Beyond that I'm not sure who or how, but if I'm Isiah, the one player that is available and capable of turning a franchise around is Ron Ron.

Ron Ron would be our best player, for sure. But I don;t know about adding him when we have many young players. Nate's definitely got to go too if Artest comes aboard. If QRich and Nate is enough for him, I say pull the trigger.

nate has to go because he's a 5'7" sideshow who doesn't listen to the coaching staff and seemingly does what he wnats on the court.

artest is from QB man, went to SJU, why wouldn't he be able to handle new york media? he was born to play at the garden.

and whats with the childish nicknames for marbury like mebury. did the guy not prove enough this year (in terms of playing D, leading the team, scoring when the team needed it, etc). enough is enough.

Anji, I agree. Nate has to go. You make a good case though. We could' very well end up with something almost equivulent (sorry for my mispelled words folks) to the starbury-Brown show. If we could buy out a part of starbury's contract and offer him in a trade, then the Artest move would make TONS' of sense. There's just nothing you can ever do about the media, so forget about that part.

I'll never trust this' team again.

So let me understand this....
Mebury being a Loser for 80 percent of his career and still lost this year, but you are willing to look past that because you like his play for about 3 months

Artest is on the way to being kicked off his third team and buring birdge 158 if you add in the indiviuals, but he is from QB and plays D so you are willing

Nate Robinson is a bench player making 1 million dollars............ that's were you draw the line

I swear I do not get some of you at all.

re: starbury, i was looking more at his play for the entire season. marbury finally listened to his coach, finally stopped scowling at teammates and did what he was told. that is a step in the right direction given he's basically the captain of this team.

re: artest. spree was public enemy #1 when the knicks got him. my entire point is that artest is off his 3rd team and burning "158 bridges" or whatever the hell your talking about, regardless, NY is a place he's comfortable with, isiah is a coach he's comfortable with, and you can't get a player of his caliber at the price he will cost this offseason every day. if there is a place ron artest would work it would be with the knicks, in new york city. i'll say that.

what does nate making $1 mil have anything to do w/ anything? dude's a clown, get him outta year.

i still swear i dont get you anji.

Starbury took a step in the right direction???? The guy had 3 enlighted months and the knicks are still a 33 win team. We won 33 two years ago with "Bad" Marbury.LOL

Spreewell choked his coach. He didn't run two different franchises into the ground, and he wasn't crazy/bi-polar. The guy has burnt how many personally relationships, but he is going to work here??? And I maybe wrong, be Isaih HATED ARTEST AND TRIED TO TRADE HIM.

Nate is a role player who comes off the bench, why are you so concerned with him. He hasn't gotting coaches fired or teams traded, or ruined franchises. It's like complaining about your spoon when flies are in your Cream or tomato......LOL, I sure some of you are Bass actwards.

i like what i saw from marbury this season, you didnt. we'll leave it at that.

artest is worth the risk, thats all im saying. im not sure about isiah disliking artest, never heard that. still, the fact that artest is crazy/bi-polar and has run a 2nd franchise into the ground means the kings cant want much, which is good b/c the knicks dont have much and its always good to get players cheap when you can.

good analogy re: nate.

I'd love to get a teammate of his - Kevin Martin. Maybe we could package Craw, Frye and our first. Okay, I'm dreaming.

if the kings called up isiah and said "we want to get rid of artest. we'll give you him and quincy douby. give us Q and frye." what would your response be? Q's injury risk is as high as artest's lunacy risk. plus they have no big men, and we have no outside shooting.

would people still not want ron ron?

Ron Ron should come to the Knicks, no doubt. He's one of the few players who can turn it around, there's no doubt. You need to manage the risks, sure but isn't that what managers are paid for? Both as a sport Franchise and a business you need to take risks to improve, it depends all on how good you'll manage the risks. For me, Ron Ron in a heartbeat. Anybody could go for him, except Curry or Lee. He's real good

SPree was a good teammate on the court.

Artest is a mess on and off. He cracks under pressure.

Keep him away.

Artest is a ticking timebomb. There is absolutely no way that he will work out on the Knicks. We don't need him and the circus that he will bring.

Artest is a mess but for the 2 years that are left on his contract, I want him so that I can root for the team. I also would like to see Nate/Crawford/Frye gone in a deal to Seattle to clear up the backcourt and get a PF or whatever.

I agree about trading for Artest if the price is right.

But, I'm not sure that Isiah does get along with Artest. I don't know that I've read anything in the press with him saying anything one way or the other.

sactown isn't gonna trade him.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
