This a direct quote from the interview yesterday and it came about when Mike and Mad Dog touched on the subject of lowered expectations.

Mike and Mad Dog acknowledged the fans showed overall support this yr and Dolan could hang his hat on that. But when they both addressed his statement of the team showing signs of a good direction this yr, they asked do you feel the fans are happy with a 30 something win team and look for anything that's positive to be happy about?

He then proceeds to tell us how New York Fans are. Well Dolan if you feel this is the case then why have you allowed

- Your coach/president on at least 3 different ocassions to prep us for letdowns by his team this season
- Your coach/president to unprotect 4 number 1 draft picks
- Your coach/president to buy out touted assets that were acquired to acquire bigger fishs
- Your coach/president to hand out full MLE deals to players that could only get them here
- Your coach/president to play mind games with us concerning David Lee
- The crutching of Injuries Excuse
- The cap to explode to Infinity
- The starting point gaurd to get 3 coaches fired
- Only Positive things to be said in the media
- Raising of Ticket prices with no Post-Season apirations

Is he really trying to raise the ticket prices? Did he say that?

no, i don't think they're raising ticket prices. he raised them after the knicks made the playoffs in 2004. but did not raise them in 2005 and 2006. and with 50+ mil coming off the books this year, i don't think he'll raise them this year. heck, imagine if he lowers ticket prices?

i think the organization is making a concerted effort to change their relationship with the fans. we saw how many more things they did this season with meet the team events and stuff like that. unfortunately, that type of improvement in season ticket relations does not extended to those making the basketball decisions on the club.

and in the interview, they talked about raising ticket prices for the rangers, not the knicks.

Raising championship banners as opposed to ticket prices is something I'd prefer, personally.

Don't start patronizing us now, Jim.

You're correct in that he did say he'd raise the prices for Ranger tickets but he was asked about the Knicks and he said....."Well we are running a business here". Leads me to believe he's contemplating it.

And really should the tickets prices have risen after the 04 season?

Comparing to Dolan everybody are smart. Even Stephan Murbury.
But hey! Not everybody can count 2+2 without calculator.
Dolan can play guitar and has a warm smile.
Let the grown kid play with his toys. This team is his property and he can break it any way he want

I remember when DJ and Jimi said something along the lines of "So long as their is some sort of a win streak, the fans will buy tickets afterwards and sell out the garden."

As long as the Knicks are mediocre and show "Signs" every now and then, Dolan can raise ticket prices to whatever he wants and the fans will still come. It's getting kinda sad.

Most of the questions are fair, but I really hate how Mike and Dog like to jump in on the NBA discussion, when they KNOW that they don't even really watch the games and aren't big NBA fans. I don't even think they're that knowledgeable about the game. Maybe Mike has a bit of insight, but not Dog.

Still Isiah has made a lot of poor decisions and really it's DOLAN who has allowed all of this. He gives the OK to these moves. So he can't really bash Isiah that hard, knowing he greenlighted these moves. Overall things don't look good over the last 4 years, but I think that Dolan can see that there are the makings of team here that will be more successful in the near future. This is what gave him pause in Isiah's case and helped him make the decision to keep Isiah. I'm hopeful that Isiah has learned SOMETHING from the moves he's made that haven't worked and will be better going forward.

All of Isiah's work here hasn't been bad. His good work must also be put in the equation.

What Dolan is coached to say and how he and his company act are two completely separate and opposite things.

Dolan doesn't seem all that intelligent when he is explaining himself, he just smiles much like isiah and pretends that he really knows whats going on

Isiah is so arrogant he really thinks he knows whats going on.

Nets can come into town and treat smart fans with a smart product and do so with Dignity, then Dolan will realize that Fans are smart, he is not.

First he's gotta want to sell it, and he's having fun playing with his toy.

he gets to make speeches to the team. he gets to show them videos of his band. he's slowly integrating himself into the team (ala cuban). so he does not want to disrupt that.
