Camby has the body and conditioning of a 29,30yr old from his injuries. Heck no one ever really wanted him traded with the little time he spent on the floor as a Knick.

The guy is 11.5pts/11.5reb/3.5blks/gm

Watch out for Nene he's got himself into shape and has been somewhat of a beast second half of season.

Actually the only reason I wouldn't do this trade is because of cap implications. If we could rid Jeffries and Francis well "It's So Crazy It Just Might Work"

Because you are a fool. Now go and forget that you just posted you would trade your 24 year center for a 30 plus year old injury prone center, then make some stupid thread about injuries or the cap....

You could start Camby with Frye and pair Nene with Lee. That would clearly be the deepest frontcourt in the East by far. Has Denver been a playoff team since they acquired Camby? Pretty much.

Camby is so injury prone, its not worth going after him. I love the guy (I had a cambyman poster and all) and I love his energy and above the rim game but he is injury prone. No one doubts his talent but you will not get many games out of him. Nene is raw talent but he is also getting injured a lot lately. It sucks. I was really a huge fan of the camby + nene frontline but they dont play many games.

i almost forgot Kenyon Martin was even on that team since he's missing his 2nd straight season. if he was healthy, up there with Camby blocking shots and protecting the basket. that's a crazy frontcourt if they could all stay healthy

kiki vandeweghe took an over the cap team, got them under the cap, signed andre miller, traded for camby and nene, drafted melo and signed a healthy kmart...and HE got fired. standards are different in denver, i guess.

Silverfeul, he's injury prone, but if he plays in 66 games, we'll win 45 at least. However, he'll prolly play about 72 games this year, so missing 10 isn't bad at all, at least for himself.

Camby's a beast. Guys like him, Mutombo, and Ben really show why defense is crucial for your big man and offense is just a nice bonus.

Solace once made the great point that Camby would probably have had a hall-of-fame career if he hadn't been injury prone.

Bonn, defense is crucial, but it's imperitive to have a balanced attack regardless. The Pistons and Spurs are known as defensive teams, but their offense is just as good, even though they don't score a ton of points.

The Pistons hardly have a polished low post scorer and that's the point. Neither do the Mavs and they're looking good. Of course you need balance, but there are so many things you need--i.e., higher priorities that should be the beginning of your rebuilding--than a polished low post scorer. You don't give up the farm for a low-post scorer when you have dozens of higher needs, and you especially don't do it when the low post scorer has tons of flaws himself.

If you have a low post scorer who plays defense, and then you have good shooters who play defense, you're winning a championship. See the Spurs and Heat. It's not just about defense Bonn. It's about 2 way players.

It's like I said though, you can still build around Curry and be a contender, but not with our current cast of characters.

I agree that it's nice to have a low-post scorer and that's probably the finishing touch to a team. And I definitely never said it was just about defense.

You can certainly have a very good team with good defensive bigs who are only average on offense. You're not gonna have a good team with good scoring bigs who are awful on defense, though (the core we're building around).

Build around Curry:
A dominant low post defender and 3 other players who can shoot and pass, especially the point guard who can get it into him, and those 3 have to be good defenders as well, or at least respectable. 1 of them has to be a star perimeter threat.

Hard to do? Yes. Possibly close to impossible. Yes. But doable? Yes again. Is it the route I would go? NO! If I build around anyone on the team, I'd rather ride with Lee and Crawford.

Why? Camby would just get injured again, like he used to always do when he was with us. Although I would enjoy very much, if he knocked Zeke out, on the side lines, like he did Van Gundy!
I'll never trust this' team again.
