Added Thomas: "It was designed for Eddy. I didn't think that they would guard him. I've been telling him the whole season I was going to design a play for him to shoot a 3 and win a game for us. I took a timeout and said, 'Now's the time.' We drew it up and he knocked it down.''

Why is it bullsh!t? Did you watch the play? It was obviously designed for Curry. Curry said so himself, recapping the entire conversation between Isiah and himself right after the game. Do you think Curry made it all up within 2 minutes after the game ended?

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

That was pretty much the most insane thing I've heard this year, but after the interviews with Curry, Nate and IT it seemed like it was a legit story.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

isiah also said he practices those regularly, and on realGM someone posted a quote from curry's draft profile when he was drafted and it mentioned his 3 point shooting. although I'm not exactly thrilled that it's something he practices if that's true...

'It's So Crazy It Just Might Work'

I still don't understand why teams don't foul in situations like that with a 3 point lead. Stupid stupid stupid.

If it's true, that's way more ****ed up than starting guys if they're from that town.

It's like a total give up on that game.

If Curry misses the shot, does Isiah come out all proud that he drew the play up for him? Doubt it.

Like it freakin' matters. The play worked yet some people still feel the need to bitch, which speaks volumes about them.

Clyde repeated that last nite as well. There is a theory on why you shouldn't foul. I think the biggest is that you actually give the opponent the opportunity to win the game.
1) You foul in the act of them shooting and a basket is scored (4 point play)
2) Foul can be called prior to inbounds and the team shoots 2 free throws and maintain possession.
3) You foul, one free throw is made and the second is missed on purpose and the opponent gets the offensive rebound.

Not taking credit. I got that from Mike Francesa.

Better coaches than Thomas have tried that. ala Don Nelson.

You're right. And it's a good play. With .9 seconds left I'll take an open three from the corner from the center over a turnaround heave from a regular 3 point shooter unless there is a guy like Kobe out there to go to. Nobody expected it, Curry had his feet set and his shoulders squared and it left his hand pure. That is a good shot, period.

who else was gonna take the shot? A double teamed Nate at 5'7"? He was the second option. Frye who is playing like sh!t? Mardy? Balk? Malik? Who?

Curry was gonna be left open and it was called that way.

You can see that it was a set play. It happened so quickly and the bucks definately didn't see it coming. Nobody did. Its definately better than a step back, double pump three. It was a gutsy call by isiah and an equally gutsy attempt by curry.

What is definately scary is that isiah said that they are looking to expand his game next year. If anything curry is responding well to coaching. Dude has grown leaps and bounds since he came aboard. I truly believe he will start to close the gap on his weaknesses and max out on his potential.

OK
I saw the replay (was waching Rangers and forget about Knicks game completely first time in years )
Yes - this looks like set play. But in this case it is even more sad
May be we should practice Nate to post up when we down 2 because opposing center will not expect it from 5-7 guy?
What we want - consitantly win games or have magic buzzer beaters each 10 games? O Sorry... I forget.. Stuppid questons. This team is around to entertain not win

Set play and good play. Curry apparently can hit the shot and it is better to create a solid look for someone that is a slightly lower percentage shooter than to have a higher percentage shooter take a contested three. It was a great play.

That is a pretty poor comparison because Eddy Curry was wide open. But if it works what is your gripe? I think I know: Isiah Thomas was involved.
