If Lee goes to Phoenix they could possibly win a chip
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Yes, assuming Brewer or Hibbert is going 3.

Horford will be a much better player than Lee.

yes.

and then I'll draft Tyler Hansbrough who, I believe, is the 3rd best prospect coming out this year behind Oden and Brewer

What if Lee comes back good as new and develops a jumper ?

Lee's ceiling isn't as high as some of those that can be had at 4.

Exactly who I was going to say to go after. However, here's an interesting take. What if it is Oden, Durant, Brewer.

Take Hibbert at 4 and shift Curry to PF where his shotblocking and average rebounding will be able to be tolerated more. Plus the huge advantage he'll have in the post.

Hibbert
Curry

I would trade anyone on this team at this point. Everyone should be just as equally likely to be traded.

no- not that pick 4 won't be better than lee- its just if your trading lee, I'd like to think we could package him and move some of our garbage and still get back a solid player.

no. you got a guy picking off 11 boards a game in his 2nd year in the league? coming off the bench? who could easily tack on 6 more ppg to his scoring just by being a little more selfish? even without "developing a jumper?" and who doesn't need plays called for him, or to dominate the ball or to clog the paint? and can get out and run anytime the team wants to?no I wouldn't.

Why even worry about trading Lee at this point. We can improve this team without getting rid of a guy that is destined to be one of our stars. If it's possible to make a trade with some team for their late 1st rd or early 2nd rd pick, then i'd do that and give up one of our other guys like Frye or Nate.

I love David Lee but this team needs a franchise because without a franchise what Lee does will always be rendered useless because Lee's game is best played on a really good team.

You mean if it became clear that he doesn't want to stay in NY?

You can have a winning team without a Franchise player in the way that YOU mean it. In other words a SUPERSTAR. There has to be a point at which we get this TEAM to a winning level and then adding a superstar makes more sense. We don't have to trade away good players in HOPES of adding some young player that we think MIGHT be a Superstar. Remember there are no guarantees with these guys coming out of college. Often guys that aren't expected to be GREAT turn out to be great players and vice versa.
Right now we can continue to develop the players we have and add some more good players that make sense for what we need.

How many SUPERSTARS are in the league and don't have titles? Just cuz you have one isn't a guarantee that you'll win a title. Just like having High Draft picks all the time isn't a guarantee that you'll have a successful rebuilding program. (see Boston, Atlanta, LAC etc.) There are some things we can do to improve this team over the next 2 years and then we can take it from there if we feel that all we need is a SUPERSTAR by then.

Which title you are tolking about?
SUPERSTAR make the team at least competative and attractive to other good players.
He brings fans, endorsments, press.
We would have something to talk about except who is hater and who is lover.
Screw the title... I want to have one SUPERSTAR.

No you don't, cuz if we trade a bunch of guys to get that Superstar and still don't have a good team to put around him, then you'd be killing that guy too. (see KG, VC in Tor and TMac in Orl)

So you think getting Mo, JRose, MRose, BugSnuck, Jefries, Steve, etc. is better way to built a team that getting Carter, KG, or Tmac. Do you really think we are morans and will believe it this bull?

I would trade lee for a shot at the 4th pick but who are the guys available? Hortford? Is hortford gonna be able to come right in and start cuz that's what the knicks need. Hortford is a beast, but can't we chuck channing instead? Channing is actually from Arizona.
