How do you lose by 22pts amidst a playoff race with evident progress?

EY Curry another night of putting up decent numbers on a bad team. His stats mean nothing to me and I love his 6TO's.

Are Steve Franics and Stephon Marbury going through the motions?

Why 70gms into the season hasn't this team geled collectively? It's always 1 or 2 players play good, the rest play like trash.

At this point the team is pulling a Mike Tyson, talking big before the fight but during the match won't come out of the corner to fight.

No West Side Of Chicago in these remaining cats, they just want to go home to their mommies.

I think injuries to key players and the emotional pressure has taken its toll on the team. What is our record since Isiah was re-contracted? 2-10?

a lot of his shots were terrible and pure luck, not even bothering to square up and just flipping it up at the basket.

Marbury I'm willing to give a pass (can't believe I'm saying this about marbs). he's been carrying this team on a busted body and hasn't made excuses. he's said and done some really stupid, stupid things. but he went into overdrive since december and it seems like he's got nothing left. can't say the same about francis, frye, or curry. balkman has played his butt off. francis, frye and curry make me want to shoot myself.

steve you said you weren't a bum and could still play. why did you lie to us, steve?

I have no idea what that means...but I can only assume it's a nice way of saying, "We are a lousy team, period."

Its the knicks. If Isiah was grumpy like Larry it would have started sooner then later. I don't see much difference at times comparing this year to last.

The team has spiraled down to me is the addition of Francis back on the team.

Can we at least be fair about this? I mean at least TRY TO BE FREAKIN reasonable. The team has hit the wall. Not the whole team, just the guys left who can really make a difference. Without Steph playing like superman, this team doesn't have a chance without Lee, Q and Jamal. We've been riding the few guys we have left for so long and they finally are breaking down. It was bound to happen sooner or later, if we didn't get healthy.

All we can hope for is that we can re-collect themselves. The big loss is actually a blessing in disguise. Close tough losses are much more debilitating. Steph needs a break to re-energize. I just feel bad that we had to have all these injuries when we could least afford to have them. Unless Steph can get a boost soon, this team is gonna continue its freefall.

Don't worry, next year Steph and Stevie will be younger, Q will have a back transplant over the summer and they're like 99% successful, and Isiah will figure out how to make sure only other teams get bone fractures. Injuries are an anomaly in this league, so this year was a faloop. Like last year, this year shouldn't even count, so as I see it next year should really be considered the first year this team will be together, and you can't expect instant chemistry so if they suck next year give them a break!

Plus I think I heard Isiah say next year he wants to go with a combination of the Princeton offense, the Lakers "Showtime", and the Bill Laimbeer sucker-punch defense. It sounds perfect to me. I don't see how anyone who considers himself a TRUE fan of the Knicks could doubt any of this.

Nobody has any problem with the team being tired. Noone has any problem with the Knicks losing because they just don't ahve enough firepower. What fans have a problem with is a team built around guys that have never won and spent an entire season quitting because their coach was mean to them. Now here we are. We have met all our goals. We beat our 23 win season. We have "competed" for a playoff spot". We got Isiah his contract extension. All our goals have been set. The "true fans" have been conditioned and satisfied by the low bar that has been set. We can relax for the time being and focus on what excuses Nixluva and the rest can use for the team next year.

The record is not the problem. Watching a team being built around a guy who's main weakness is being out of shape and not having intensity everynight. What team does that?

NO!!! As usual you totally missed the point. This team is gearing towards the future. NO MATTER WHAT THEY DO THIS YEAR, it will only be the beginning for this team in terms of it's development. Is it too much to ask for you guys to recognize the fact that this team has at least established a base to build from this year. We didn't do that last year, but at least this year we got some things accomplished.

In the offseason we can look to refine the team some more in the right direction. I can see that you guys are totally jaded by what's been happening in the last 5 games. Instead of looking at the situation and seeing that we've been screwed by the injury bug, you want to try and make this seem like it's business as usual. As if this team isn't making any progress. The thing is you can't honestly think this team isn't better and that if we had been healthy the team would have a better record right now and a better shot to make the playoffs.

They aren't "mailing it in" the team is breaking down. There's a difference. All this time we've been surviving off of some hyped up performances but now those guys are showing some fatigue. Too many minutes and not enough help. I just hope we can get a little healthy in time to still get into the playoffs.

70 games is a lot to ask for NBA players to play. They must be exhausted.

All those other teams contending for the playoffs, that are still busting their asses and playing hard? All of those teams are just anomalies.

And how can you possibly not use injuries as an excuse when you start:

Curry - an alleged franchise center and once in a generation talent
Frye - a lottery pick 2 years ago
Jeffries - your big free agent acquisition, the "missing piece" and "glue"
Marbury - a $20M a year former all star PG in his prime
Francis - a $18M a year former all star SG in his prime

If a coach doesn't think he can compete with that then I guess it's a complete indictment of his GM.

What hyped up performances are you seeing. You see Balkman or Nate come off the bench and provide some energy but overall this entire season you are seeing the team simply not competing in must win games. We have lost to bad teams at the garden in games where our team comes out completely flat. Where are you getting that this has happened in the last 5 games. It's happened all year, and all year you've made excuses for it.

We are building around a guy who's main fault is being out of shape and giving an everyday effort. We are looking to build around him with late first round picks and MLE's. We still have not made the fundamental shift to actually rebuilding and are living for the playoffs. That is our goal. We have young talent, but until you commit to it and stop milking Stevie and Marbs it's going to be a half-assed effort.

I like the young talent on this team as much as you do. But I am not convinced that our GM is going to make the proper decisions to bring in talent that can take this team beyond where it is. I'm pretty confident I will get another 1 dimensional player next year. Probably one with energy so that we can make up for the core group that provides us with no energy on a regular basis.

Nixluva think about the offseason signings. We went out and got Jeffries and Balkman because we needed someone to provide energy and defense for a team that plays no defense and just spent an entire season not trying at all. Does that not tell you something.

AS for the players breaking down:
Marbs: Averaging near a career low 37.1 minutes and is being asked to penetrate less and score less than at any point in his career. He is tired because he is getting old and this is not going to change

Curry: Breaking down because once again he is not dedicated to taking care of his body and the minutes are wearing on him

Q: is breaking down because of his back. Not going to change

Stevie: After months off shouldn't he be full of life

Nate: Hasn't played all year shouldn't he be fresh

Renaldo: Same as above

Frye: 2nd season, fewer total minutes than last year. Why would he be breaking down?

jared: Missed a month of the season, why would he be breaking down

BAckup centers: Rarely play shouldnt' they be fresh and full of energy.

I am with you. Lee and Jamal are a big part of this team. They can help us win games. But as far as the energy is concerned who on this team has a legit excuse for not bringing it on a nighly basis? Why can Toronto miss 2 main players in their rotation and still bring it every night? Why can Portalnd come into NY missing their star player with nothing to play for and still out hustle and outplay us on our HOME COURT? What is the excuse? Why can other teams do it, and we can't. What is special about our situation? You are seeing what you saw last year. No nightly effort, and a mouthful of excuses from everyone.

In order to win in the playoffs you have to bring it everynight for 2 months after playing a full season. Here we are at game 70 fighting for our playoff lives and we can't seem to bring it everynight. Because we are tired???????? Come on man. It's March everyone is banged up and tired. It's playoff time, real men step up at this point.

It just goes back to the whole "no accountability" thing.

By blaming injuries instead of the players lack of effort and execution, the players will think that they did all they could but were just unlucky with injuries. They'll continue to "prepare" the way they did this year and their entire career.

It's never their fault, it's always something else that they have no control over.
