Maybe we can trade him- for anything but bad contracts- either over the summer or next season. I think he is suddenly playing decent defense and starting to put up points. Not sure what team would take him- but I bet KG wishes the Wolves had traded for him.

i would bet he remains untradable. anyone who watches the sport knows he has one mvp-level spurt per year and then regresses.

We might be able to trade him but who are we going to replace him with and how would we do it without taking on other bad contracts. Don't fool yourself, we are in these games mainly because of Marbury. I would rather cut Francis and keep Marbury and just deal with the salary cap implications.

Yeah I was thinking to myself the other day what kills this guys value the worst.......

Him exploding statistically while racking up L's

Him blowing his knee out

Him getting booed by the home crowd

Him not hitting clutch shots when they need them most(i.e. Free Throws)

At the end of the day it really doesn't matter, nobody wants him.

No one will take his contract.

Might as well ride him out for the next 2 years, since he's playing great for us rite now.

Jeff Van Gundy might
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Teams aren't likely to take on a 30 yr old PG, with such a huge Contract, so the question is moot.
However, this version of Steph would be a welcome addition to any team. I think you guys are so way off base about him that it's not even funny. WHY are you even talking about trading him now? He's playing at an All Star level and has been for a while now. It's not about him doing this once a year. The only time he hasn't played well in his career was last year under Brown. This year isiah has gotten him to finally reach his potential as an all around player and floor leader. It's not his fault that Q or Jamal aren't there to do what they usually do for this team. That Lee isn't in there to back up Curry and make teams pay for leaving him. We have to put things in perspective. Nash and Kidd are both older than Steph and their still playing at a high level. Steph is clearly able to play at a high level now and should be able to do that for a few more years. This is just clear HATE for a guy that is giving us everything he can when we need it most. He just needs a bit of help, which we weren't able to give last night. Exactly what about him can you have something negative to say right now?

Last night is a case in point. He was doing an excellent job of defending TJ Ford who is one of the quickest guards in the league. Yet Steph was able to stay in front of him. This was despite all the picks they set to try and bump Steph off of him. We don't need to trade him in order to get the players we need to round out this squad. There's absolutely NO REASON to be looking to move him at this point. If we had at least Lee and Jamal and Steph playing at this level, I think this team is right up there with every team in the East except Detroit.

I think the world is not stupid and has learned that after 10 years, Isiah is the only coach that Marbs will listen to

I think the world is not stupid and has learned it's quite obvious that Marbury is going nowhere for years to come, now that Isiah is secured for God knows how many years. Marbury will get an extension himself. Maybe after this Summer.

The sooner you realize that's the reality, the sooner you can accept it.

The one good thing in this whole situation is this. At least we have some stability within' out environment.

We might be able to trade him but who are we going to replace him with and how would we do it without taking on other bad contracts. Don't fool yourself, we are in these games mainly because of Marbury. I would rather cut Francis and keep Marbury and just deal with the salary cap implications.

i'd rather trade both of them, draft or sign a bigger G who plays defense & can hit an open jumpshot, & have Jamal be the starting PG to pair w.Curry going forward, but Bip's right... Isiah is the only coach that has even been able to get Marbury to play team basketball... he's here to stay in all likelihood.

I thought Marbury played great team basketball his first year as a Knick. Except for last year, he has MVP level stretches every year like someone mentioned in another thread. It's hard to tell if the difference is due to Isiah or if it's just that random "MVP" time of season for Marbury

Marbury played great team ball w/KVH... then the TT trade went down & Marbury went back into Starbury mode.

is there a good player in the NBA that doesn't have stretches where he'll play like the MVP during the course of a given season? what separates the great ones from the also rans is their ability to sustain that level of consistently great play throughout the entire season even through some injuries & through their teammates being injured... i don't think i've seen Marbury sustain a level of great team oriented ball longer than i have this season, but since Jamal went down he's sorta reverted back to his Starbury persona, trying to carry the team on his own instead of looking to get his teammates involved & then looking for his shot, the way he was doing before Jamal went down... i give him credit for trying to step up to fill the hole in the scoring, but he needs to do it while making sure his teammates' games don't suffer... so far, it's clear that Curry's struggled ever since Jamal went down... that tells me that Marbury's not doing his job the way he should be doing it.
