According to a report by our Anthony Fucilli, David Lee will be out approximately three to four more weeks with a bone bruise in his right ankle. Lee leads the Knicks with 10.7 rebounds per game, but has missed eight of the last nine games.

maybe a blessing in disguise is that with isiah already getting his extension he may not feel compelled to rush lee back and they can let the kid totally heal.

Good part is there is nothing structurally wrong he just has to get better. When he can jump and it heals he can play. There will be no ill effects and he will play as soon as he can jump. Ther problem is we dont know when that is

That sucks, but I would prefer the young man heal and come back strong. Hopefully he can stay in shape though it will be hard to stay in game shape.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I think the Knicks medical staff sucks. They're constantly way off.

He can do the ellipitical and stairmasters but game shape is tougher. I really hope it will be before the 3 week mark and the 4 week mark is the worst case scenario

So basically, the team has to make the playoffs without him.

i was under the impression that a bone bruise is caused by a hard impact, enough to cause the bone to be bruised but not enough to fracture it. but David turned his ankle... how did that cause something like that to happen...

I can answer that it isnt in his ankle. When the ankle turned inward it put all the pressure on the fibula a bone in the mid calf and the bone bent and didnt break. This is the source of pain and that is what has to heal.

That's one hell of a microfrac..., I mean bone bruise.

Islefan there isnt any microfracture of any sort and once the pain goes away he will be fine. Trust me I am right on this one

I hope you are because I don't trust the Knicks medical staff.

Islefan there isnt anything wrong except the sore bone. You have to trust me and he will be back in April ready to roll. It is killing him letting his team mates down

I'd be surprised if the Knicks make the playoffs now. Marbury's gonna have to keep playing like Superman and Eddy's gonna have to at least try on defense.

I've had a bone bruise - they hurt like hell, but take a good month or two off and you're fine.

This is actually great news. I was worried it was something structural.

Bone bruise is nothing. It hurts that he's out, but he'll come back good as new.

edit: and the bone bruise/second opinion thing makes total sense now - the first orthopedic surgeon I saw told me I had a torn ACL. second guy did a closer look and it was just a bone bruise on the end of my thigh bone.
