meaning, they didn't know what to expect until they actually got out there and experienced it. on paper you know he gives you about 18, but its all the other things that dont show up in the stats column that he is referring to. Bad loss, but a decent quote, I can understand that.

you take away a guy that plays 40 mins a night and handles the ball for 1/2 the game and there's going to be an adjustment period. i think after they finished crying over their lost dog, they played much better in the 2nd half.
they need to adjust to jamal being out. that's a big task. then they need to adjust to adding nate into the fold. another not so easy task.
but you know what, if they had nate and lee last night, the knicks may have won that game. i chalk last night up to the shock value (although it did look eerily similar to many many many games from this season).
but i'm only giving them that game. they need to wake the F up and bring it from the start vs. the warriors - especially eddy. this ain't like ewing breaking his wrist.

This is a characteristic of this team - to be reactive rather than proactive -and to let the other team set the tempo and tenor of the game
So now that they learned the hard way that they didn't come out aggressive enough against the Celtics, will they come out just aggressive enough tomorrow to theoretically beat the Celtics, or will they be ahead of the curve and give enough to beat the team they'll really be playing - the Warriors?

i think Marbury has some emotional issues... he seems to take things really hard... crying because a teammate can't play the rest of the year? that's not natural... Marbury broke down over that whole Katrina thing too which in itself i could understand, but breaking down during a press conference isn't all that natural.

Yeah, he reacts very strongly. I don't even know about the Katrina thing being normal. It's one thing to feel sad and sorry for victims, but breaking down and crying is a bit excessive. It's better than some people who have the opposite issue and just don't care about anyone
