even in our wins this team has looked terrible to me. We are taking FAR too many jumpers and I think we might be playing our worst stretch of ball of the season... At least one of.

Steph is playing hard, everyone else looks lost out there... This team is a mess, I dont see any signs that we can make a push to the playoffs.. I think we will be lucky to win one loose one for the rest of the season.

We havent had a longer win streak than 3 games I dont see one coming anytime soon something drastic has to go down, we have to move the ball better I just really dont have much hope.

I don't see us playing much different.
Lee apsence is felt.
I think the overal league quality of ball rased as playoffs aproaching and teams are stabilizing rosters and players are getting in better form.
It is just time of the truth for us. No more miracles.
Did you remember we getting blown away each yera approximatlely at the same time?

So what happens if we only win a handful of games from here on out? Does IT already have the "significant progress" he needs to be safe, so that won't matter? Will it be a "well we struggled a bit at the end of the season, but the progress we made was apparent... especially at the beginning of the year, so IT stays" type deal?

I think you may have answered your own question.

My opinion is - IT should be evaluated based on the performance over all years of his contract.
He was spinning the wheel a lot but we are basically in same condition as we were when he started.
We have plus some young players and minus flexibility. He spent a lot of money but the positives we get (Lee) are not related to spending.
The roster is totally unbalanced, the value of players is at all time low, we have no trade assets, no picks, basically no future.
Any reasonable owner will not think long on what to do with IT. Just get him out ASAP.
But Dolan... Who knows what stack in his week head?

It's taking him 3.5 years to roughly match the record of his predecessor, who's often referred to as "the worst GM in all professional sports, ever."

Is that significant progress?

Only if you bottom out the franchise in the interim.

These NITWITS can't understand this Blue. They really don't know where to start and don't have a legitimate standard.

The difference is that this team actually has players that we can move forward with!!! Was that even the case with Layden? His team was one of the oldest I can ever remember. Perhaps you guys have forgotten that. The thing is that This team was built in less than 3 years and that's pretty good by NBA standards. Just look around and see the landscape of teams that have been at this FAR longer than Isiah and the Knicks. Who knows, with a good move this team could've been on it's way, but a deal wasn't easy to find, so we will have to wait for the summer. At least the team is young enough to work with and continue to develop. I believe Isiah will make the needed additions to get this team to the next level.

YES we've been playing like crap. They've also been doing what they've done all year. Playing up and down. Part of it is Isiah's decision making. Part of is is just bad play by this team. Part of it in my mind has to do with guys being slowed by injuries. Q is banged up, Francis is hurt, Lee is hurt. We all know that Steph isn't 100%. To me these things have been somewhat of a factor. It's not a total excuse, but a factor. This team isn't good enough to withstand injury to it's better players. Let's hope Isiah get's his head straight and starts to go with more Balkman, Nate and Collins. No more Jerome.

when all else fails, bring in "Layden" and try to make it all better!

Payroll went up from $84 mil to 125 mil. Thats a 48% increase.

We could have had a deal if they wanted to keep adding to the payroll as we have the last few years.

Taxes have gone up from about 20 million to triple that amount. Or a 300% increase!

Other than being a total homer what logical "additions" are gonna get us to the next level?

Nix, your cred is very low in my book. This team is very funky and could have improved with more money, but Dolan is not gonna take it on.

I don't get your point. This team has a base of players that we can build around. We know we need certain things. ie shotblocking/shooting/perimeter defense etc. Another dependable player like VC wouldn't hurt, but in any event there's nothing wrong with the base of this team so far. We have youth and talent. It's basically a .500 team right now and is that the worst thing in the world? You don't think this team can be improved upon? WHY?

What peolpe need to realize is we really can't judge this team until Jeffires back from his wrist injury and in the starting lineup. He's the key, he's the glue that's gonna shore up our defense. Everything will make sense when he's available.

Oh wait, that was November, and this is end of February already? Man we need more injuries to keep the excuses flowing.

Nixluva, in the NBA all teams go thru these niggling injuries. Waiting for an injury free season takes longer than waiting for the next Patrick Ewing.

Couldn't the team stuck with the old players suck really bad and kept it's picks, possibly landing James, Howard, Wade, Bosh, Okafor, Paul. Better yet couldn't ISAYUGH have drafted better since you're trying to give him all this credit for rebuilding.

Nixluva I'd also like to know how you think ISAYUGH is doing in the developmental/rebuilding process since Lee, although improved doesn't start, Channing has been treated like a Yo-Yo all season, Nate is still an immature idiot who gets not PT, Balkman is getting the Larry Brown treament from ISAYUGH and Mardy is just a hit-man/marksman?

i agree that they have been palying unfocused the past week. no sense of urgency. we should be in the 8th seed slot but we botched that up. when it comes to the nets, i am convinced it is mental. we can beat teams like detroit and miami but when nj comes to town we cower. we are soft without lee and we will be soft tonight. tonight's game is VERY important and a lost here will be a monstrous blow ( though i can't see them winning). it seems that after thomas was gauranteed his position, the team is in "relaxing" mode. they are just kicking back. thomas was right that the fans want it more than the players. he needs to install urgency into his team.
